Insider ...
If bantamweights are to create the same interest and demand similar purses that heavier mixed martial artists currently enjoy in the U.S.,
there's a good chance Sacramento, California's Urijah Faber (Pictures) will lead
the way.
The dominating 145-pound "California Kid" has created quite a following
in his home state, winning 12 of 13 fights and multiple titles for
several organizations, including the KOTC crown he defends in Arizona
this Saturday.
Faber intends to take out Charlie Valencia (Pictures), a slick submission wrestler
who held the KOTC belt prior to a career-threatening eye injury, which
forced him to relinquish the belt.
Sherdog Insider's Greg Savage takes you into Faber's training camp, and offers a
close look at perhaps America's best fighter under 155 pounds.
Faber-Valencia, along with the return of Don Frye (Pictures), will be featured on
Pay-Per-View, Friday, May 19.
