Mousasi: Lawal Won't Get Me Down ‘More Than Once or Twice'
Apr 14, 2010
Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi has no doubts that Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal will be a worthy challenger for his title at Strikeforce “Nashville” this Saturday at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.
The 24-year-old Dutch-Armenian fighter believes Lawal, a 2005 U.S. world team member in freestyle wrestling, earned his combat-sports stripes in the highly demanding discipline. Not coincidentally, that’s where Mousasi feels Lawal will be his most potent.
“Wrestling he’ll have an advantage (in),” said Mousasi, “but I don’t see him taking me down more than once or twice.”
In this Sherdog.com video exclusive, Mousasi broaches his training for Lawal, as well as his recent weight gain.
