Noons on Late Punch, Knee on Ground

“It was nothing personal or nothing intentional,” K.J. Noons said Saturday of the strike that landed on Jorge Gurgel just after the bell in the first round of their matchup at Strikeforce “Houston.”
Noons was in the process of throwing the punch before the round ended. In the next period, he quickly finished Gurgel, though a knee he delivered on the ground as the referee intervened might have been illegal.
