Born in Rio de Janeiro, Gleidson Venga got his start in journalism at the age of 17 in 2001. A longtime contributor to Sherdog.com, Venga also runs the Brazilian website Portal do Vale Tudo and has written for magazines in the U.S., Germany and Japan. A Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, Venga has followed MMA for over 16 years, and was first motivated to cover the sport by Royce Gracie’s early performances in the UFC.
