Kermit Cintron to Fight David Grayton on Friday in PBC on Bounce Co-Feature

After being knocked out Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in November 2011 and then battling Adrian Granados to a draw nearly 18 months later, Kermit Cintron needed some time to rethink his boxing career.

He beat Jonathan Batista via decision in 2013 and repeated the feat against Ronald Cruz in 2014 before taking all of 2015 off. The rest has done the former IBF welterweight world champion well as Cintron came back with a vengeance last year, going 4-0 against decent opposition. The Puerto Rico native will look continue his six-fight winning streak on Friday when he meets once-beaten David Grayton on the televised portion of the PBC on Bounce card.

Cintron (39-5-2, 30 KOs) had taken on several elite-level fighters in his career and he can ill-afford a loss to rising contender Grayton. The two will collide in a 10-round welterweight battle that is the prototypical crossroads duel between old veteran and contender. Grayton (15-1, 11 KOs) is coming off an eighth-round TKO over Kareem Martin in August, the first fight since being torched in the second to Bryant Perrella last June.

The Premier Boxing Champions card will be televised live on Bounce TV and BounceTV.com beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT from inside Santander Arena in Reading, Pa. Headlining the card will be a matchup between Travis Kauffman and fellow heavyweight Amir Mansour. Also slated for the telecast is a six-round super welterweight affair between Chordale Booker (5-0, 3 KOs) and Moshea Aleem (4-0-1, 2 KOs).
