The ordering process for Ultimate Fighting Championship pay-per-views has changed: UFC 244 is only available on ESPN+ in the U.S.

On Oct. 30, 2001, Pancrase was in Tokyo for Pancrase: Proof 6.

In the main event, Nate Marquardt defended his middleweight title, submitting Yuji Hoshino in the third round. It was the second and final time that the American defended his belt. In his next fight, he would lose his title to Kiuma Kunioku, against whom he had fought to a draw in his first title defense.

Also on the card was Akihiro Gono, who beat Keiichiro Yamamiya by decision; Yuki Sasaki, who submitted Daisuke Ishii; and Daisuke Watanabe, who fought Mitsuyoshi Sato to a draw. Other notable performances came from Kosei Kubota, who knocked out Eiji Ishikawa with a knee; Kazuo Misaki, who knocked out Takaku Fuke in eight seconds; and Hideaki Iwasaki, who knocked out Hikaru Sato.
