His career resume anchored by wins over two Ultimate Fighting Championship hall of famers, Keith Jardine will celebrate his 38th birthday on Oct. 31.

“The Dean of Mean” made his professional mixed martial arts debut in August 2001, but he became a household name in cagefighting circles after his appearance on Season 2 of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality series. Jardine, who compiled a 6-7 record inside the UFC’s Octagon, scored the two most significant victories of his career nine months apart, as he stopped Forrest Griffin on strikes at UFC 66 and then outdueled Chuck Liddell to a split decision at UFC 76. The Jackson’s Mixed Martial Arts representative went 3-8-1 after his victory over Liddell, a downward spiral that included a four-fight losing streak in the UFC.

Jardine last appeared under the Strikeforce banner in July 2012, when he lost a unanimous decision to two-time Abu Dhabi Combat Club Submission Wrestling World Championships gold medalist Roger Gracie.
