UFC 123 Prelims Earn 1.5 Million Viewers

Saturday's UFC 123 “Prelims Live” special, which aired live on Spike TV for the hour leading up to the pay-per-view broadcast, earned an average of 1.5 million viewers, a respectable showing compared with the organization's previous prelim broadcasts.

The hour-long special was the company's third-most watched in 13 broadcasts, and also earned a 1.1 household rating. Additionally, the broadcast netted a 1.31 rating in males 18-49 and a rating of 1.21 in the M18-34 demographic.

Featured during the special were two live undercard fights from UFC 123. In the broadcast's first bout, former Oklahoma State University standout Mark Munoz edged out fellow NCAA Division 1 collegiate wrestler Aaron Simpson in an action-packed unanimous decision. The second bout featured H.I.T. Squad fighter Brian Foster recovering from a low blow to submit Matt Brown with a slick guillotine choke in the second round.
