Demian Maia was able to use his otherworldly jiu jitsu skills to dominate fan-favorite slugger Matt Brown.
Maia was all over the brawler from the start, scoring takedowns and seizing his back virtually whenever he wanted. Brown fended off the myriad of submission attempts throughout and mounted a small rally in the third, but the crafty Brazilian eventually got the American down once again, latched onto his back and eventually forced the tap courtesy of a slick rear-naked choke. The end officially came at 4:31 of the third.
