Mike Winkeljohn: Carlos Condit’s Strategy for GSP Same as Greg Jackson Would Have Employed
By: Sherdog.com Staff

“I don’t think it would have changed anything if Greg [Jackson] would have been there. I think we would have had the same strategy we’re going with today. Greg and I have been together for so long, so I don’t think it would change that much. With Georges, I don’t know if Georges’ strategy would change that much. The guys that are running [St. Pierre’s] camp, they understand what’s going on. I think the fact that Greg stepped back is great. Honestly, Georges hasn’t been down to the gym but a couple of times in the last three years. He’s been up training with all the guys in Montreal, so he hasn’t picked up on what we do in camp. He’s not training every day with our footwork, with our style, with our defenses. It’s going to be an exciting fight.” -

Following the Anderson Silva-Stephan Bonnar main event of UFC 153 and the announcement of Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen as opposite coaches on “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 17, Breen and Stupp discuss whether recent events and injuries have created a new methodology for UFC matchmaking. The two open up on whether or not bouts like Silva-Bonnar and Jones-Sonnen are aberrations or signs of things to come, the role of TUF in the UFC's current woes, and which Anderson Silva superfight -- Georges St. Pierre or Jon Jones -- is more appealing.
Breen and Stupp also rap about how fighters shifting weight classes could alter their legacies and create new fight opportunities, the multi-divisional legacies of Anderson Silva, Randy Couture and B.J. Penn, the UFC's spin on cash-grab fights and much more.

How Greg Jackson Would Have Helped Georges St. Pierre Prepare for Carlos Condit
By: Sherdog.com Staff
Trainer Firas Zahabi, on “Rewind,” discussing what role Greg Jackson would have played in Georges St. Pierre’s training camp for Carlos Condit had he not recused himself due to a conflict of interest:

“When you have a guy like Greg, when he comes in, he’ll assess your entire training. There’s so many techniques. There’s so many things you could do -- you can’t do them all. Greg will come in and say, ‘This is what you’ve got to focus on if you want to beat this guy. You guys should spend the majority of your time doing this and this.’ He’ll lay it out for us in terms of how he sees the fight, and definitely we’ll follow that plan and gear our training towards that. We have other coaches as well. They put in their two cents. That’s a big part of the battle, making those decisions early on because you could spend a lot of time doing something that when it comes down to the fight, you didn’t use it at all. It wasn’t even relevant at all, so all those hours you spent working on that could have been better spent working on something else.” -
Cesar Gracie: Nick Diaz Shouldn’t Be Criticized for Willingness to Fight Anderson Silva
By: Sherdog.com Staff
Cesar Gracie, on “Beatdown,” discussing Nick Diaz’s willingness to fight Anderson Silva:
“Look, Anderson Silva wants to fight GSP. GSP’s not fighting him. If Anderson Silva really wants to drop down a weight, maybe fight at a catch weight or something, well, Nick is willing to step up and fight the guy. I don’t think that should be criticized. A fighter wanting to fight should never be criticized. People find a reason to criticize anything: ‘Who does Nick think he is?’ A fighter wanting to fight should not be criticized.”

UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva has shown more interest in a super fight with 170-pound titleholder Georges St. Pierre than defending his crown against the unbeaten Chris Weidman. St. Pierre thinks “The Spider” ought to reconsider his stance on Weidman, who thrashed Mark Munoz at UFC on Fuel TV 4.

Martin Kampmann Wants Condit or GSP Next, But Will Fight Hendricks If Necessary
By: Sherdog.com Staff
Martin Kampmann, on “The Savage Dog Show,” discussing whom he wants to fight next:
“The guys I want to fight are either [Carlos] Condit or GSP. That’s the guys I want to fight the most because they have the belts. I want to fight for the belt, but if I have to fight Johny [Hendricks] to get there, then I guess that’s what I’ll do. But more than anything I want to fight for the belt. … I don’t think [training with Hendricks previously] is a concern should that fight happen. We used to train quite a lot together. He helped me a lot with my wrestling and I helped him a little bit with his standup. It was kind of a mutual relationship there and we hung out outside of training as well, but I’m sure we can put that aside and go in there and do our best come fight time.”
