With UFC 158 just a week and a half away, TJ and Jeff caught up with Team Alpha Male product Dillashaw. The Sacramento-based fighter joined the program to chat about his featherweight bout against Issei Tamura in Montreal, his new coach Duane Ludwig, and how he feels he has gotten better without competing.
If anyone thinks bantamweights don’t have knockout power, show them a fight that features Francisco Rivera. The CSW product joined De Santis and Sherwood to talk about his contract extension with the UFC. The WEC vet shares his story about nearly retiring from the sport to work full time as a city employee of Buena Park, what made him return to mixed martial arts, and why he feels being cut from the UFC at one point was a good thing.
The guys take listener calls, emails, and tweets. They also take a look at if transgender MMA fighters should be allowed to fight fighters of their new sex. One transgendered listener even calls in and shares her thoughts on the topic.

Faber Teammate T.J. Dillashaw: ‘Barao’ More Dangerous Than Dominick Cruz
By: Sherdog.com Staff
T.J. Dillashaw, on the Sherdog Radio Network, discussing Urijah Faber’s upcoming fight against Renan “Barao” Pegado:
“I feel like it’s a tougher fight than Dominick Cruz. I wouldn’t say tougher, but more dangerous. Just as tough of a fight, but more dangerous of a fight just for the fact that ‘Barao’ could finish the fight at any point just like Urijah could finish the fight at any point. They’re both going for the kill. When you’re fighting Cruz, Cruz is going to dance around you and try to win by decision.”

‘TUF 14’ Episode 9 Earns 1.4 Million Viewers
By: Mike Whitman
Episode nine of “The Ultimate Fighter 14” matched last week’s showing in the ratings department, netting 1.4 million viewers for its Wednesday night broadcast on Spike TV.

The 14th and final season to air on Spike TV before “TUF” finds a new home on FX in 2012, the UFC’s current iteration of the reality show has attracted a consistent viewership ranging from a low of 1.3 million to a high of 1.6 million viewers.
Spike officials announced the episode nine figures on Thursday, confirming that the episode also drew ratings of 1.71 and 1.44 in the male 18-34 and 18-49 demographics, respectively. According to Spike, the show also posted a 1.1 household rating and ranked third in the aforementioned male demographics for its time slot behind offerings from Comedy Central and FX.
Episode nine revealed the season’s first bantamweight finalist, as Team Bisping’s T.J. Dillashaw outpointed Team Miller’s Dustin Pague. Dillashaw used his powerful wrestling base to put Pague on his back throughout the contest, though Pague’s active guard and offense from the bottom forced the fight into a third-round tie-breaker. The final frame would belong to Dillashaw, however, as the Team Alpha Male representative punched his ticket to the live finale on Dec. 3.
