Sherdog.com Preview: UFC 61 “Bitter Rivals” Part II

The main portion of UFC 61 features four quality match-ups. We’ll see two rematches (one for a belt) and two bouts with serious title implications.

Frank Mir (Pictures) gets back in the cage on the heels of a disappointing return to action last February after a two-year absence. His competition, TUF competitor Dan Christison (Pictures), has a shot at making a real name himself in the UFC by taking out a former heavyweight champ.

From one TUF guy to another, season two contract winner Joe Stevenson (Pictures) takes on the long-time uncrowned champion of the lightweight division Yves Edwards (Pictures).

Then in the first of our rematches TUF 3 coaches Tito Ortiz (Pictures) and Ken Shamrock (Pictures) look to settle an old score in the Octagon.

And our headliner features a rubber match for the heavyweight championship. Andrei Arlovski (Pictures) won his bout by submission. Tim Sylvia (Pictures) ended his with strikes. Hopefully this bout lasts longer than the previous two because I‘d like to see them pound each other for a while for $40.
