Mixed martial arts offers many different flavors of violence. Some of it is artful, consisting of displays of sublime technical skill in striking, wrestling or grappling. Other pieces are raw and visceral. There is always the possibility of complete insanity in the form of a Don Frye-Yoshihiro Takayama or Leonard Garcia-Chan Sung Jung.

The one-sided beatdown is yet another option. The latest edition of the Sherdog Top 10 series examines some of these brutal drubbings, bringing you a smorgasbord of violence. The totality of dominance was the major criterion, with bonus points awarded to fights that looked relatively even on paper and turned out to be anything but in practice.

There have been many such beatings in the long, illustrious history of the sport, and no one list can encompass all of them. Still, these 10 fights should be strong contenders in the field:
