CASE FOR: Torres was a pioneer in the lighter weight classes, building his record to a sparkling 37-1 over the course of a decade while capturing the World Extreme Cagefighting bantamweight title and defending it three times. His exciting style of fighting led to many thrilling contests, including a classic Chicago battle with Takeya Mizugaki. CASE AGAINST: Torres’ run of success came at times against overmatched opposition. Moreover, his success at the top level ended rather abruptly, with six losses in nine fights right as he seemed to be in his prime. He also never drove business. VERDICT: Should he go in? No.
