Medeiros used his insane size at lightweight to keep Khabilov from totally dominating him and then utilized his fluid striking skills to pepper the Dagestani in open battle.
Unfortunately after a few minutes of tense grappling and striking exchanges, Medeiros posted hard off of his left hand as he tried to prevent himself from being dragged down, dislocating his thumb in the process. The injury was immediately visible and warranted a stoppage from referee Dan Miragliotta. The defeat was Medeiros’ first as a professional.
