TOTAL NUMBER OF UFC FIGHTS: 5,126
TOTAL NUMBER OF UFC EVENTS: 477

The Ultimate Fighting Championship on Saturday returned to Ottawa, Ontario, for the second time in company history, bringing with it a headliner that delivered in spades. UFC Fight Night 151 featured a record-breaking fighter paving his own way, a poor showing for Canadian faithful and a man who insists on winning by quick knockout.

OH NO, CANADA: Canadian-born fighters went 1-7 against their foreign opponents at the event, with only Arjan Singh Bhullar scoring a victory for his home country. While Canada’s Cole Smith also scored a win, to do so he had to defeat fellow countryman Mitch Gagnon.

NO DISSENT NECESSARY: UFC Fight Night 151 joined nine other events with the second-most unanimous verdicts at a single show with eight. Only UFC 169 had more, with nine bouts scored unanimously in favor of one fighter.

DAD ‘COWBOY’ IS BORN: Donald Cerrone won for the 23rd time in the UFC, extending his record for the most wins in company history.

THE FACE OF ZUFFA: Cerrone competed in his 31st bout inside the Octagon, one shy of the record currently held by Jim Miller. When adding his 10 fights in World Extreme Cagefighting, he extends his own record for the most appearances in combined Zuffa history to 41. This includes fighters who competed in Pride Fighting Championships and Strikeforce.

GOTTA BUILD THAT SWIMMING POOL: By earning “Fight of the Night” for his headlining scrap with Al Iaquinta, Cerrone picked up his 17th post-fight bonus, extending his own record. No other fighter has more than 15.

WHEN YOU’RE HOT, YOU’RE HOT: For the fourth time in his career, Cerrone has put on three consecutive post-fight bonus-winning bouts. He has done so in 2011, 2013-2014, 2016 and now 2019. No other fighter has accomplished such a feat, although Nate Diaz strung together two three-fight bonus streaks and one six-fight bonus-winning series.

MORE SILVA THAN SILVA: Cerrone scored two knockdowns on Iaquinta, breaking a tie with Anderson Silva and Jeremy Stephens for the most knockdowns in UFC history with 20.

WHEN A TREE FALLS ON LONG ISLAND: In knocking down Iaquinta twice, “Cowboy” became the first fighter to ever drop “Raging Al” in his 13-fight UFC career.

BROKE THE CENTURY MARK: Cerrone landed more than 100 significant strikes for the first time in his 41-fight Zuffa career. The only fighter to ever land at least 100 significant strikes on “Cowboy” was Diaz, who widely outstruck Cerrone in a thrilling battle at UFC 141 in 2011.

TAKE IT EASY, ELIAS: After losing a decision to Derek Brunson in the co-main event, Elias Theodorou has reached the scorecards in each of his last eight bouts and nine of 11 in the UFC overall. “The Spartan” has still never been finished in his 19-fight career.

HARRIS-CIDE: Walt Harris obliterated Sergey Spivak in 50 seconds. All 12 of Harris’ wins have come by knockout within two rounds. Although he previously beat Andrei Arlovski by decision, the win was overturned to a no-contest after Harris failed a drug test.

AMAZING MACY: “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 28 winner Macy Chiasson remained undefeated at 5-0, as she pummeled Sarah Moras to a technical knockout for her fourth finish. The knockout was her second at bantamweight, tying seven other fighters for the third-most in divisional history. Only Ronda Rousey (three) and Amanda Nunes (five) hold more.

PERFECTLY BALANCED: After getting tapped by a Matt Sayles arm-triangle choke, Kyle Nelson now holds one loss by knockout, one by tapout and one by decision. On the other hand, he celebrates four wins by knockout, another four by submission and four more on the scorecards.

NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN: Coming into UFC Fight Night 151, Spivak (nine fights), Brad Katona (eight fights), and Juan Adams (five fights) had never been defeated, Sayles had never won by submission (nine fights) and Moras had never been finished (nine fights).

SIGNATURE HAT, SIGNATURE SONG: Although all 31 uses of “Cowboy” by Kid Rock are attributed to Cerrone, the song is the only one of 25 with at least 20 recorded uses to have a winning percentage of over .700 (.742).

BOLD MOVE: Cole Smith walked out to his promotional debut accompanied by the Pride theme by Yasuharu Takanashi. He was the first fighter in UFC history whose pro debut came after the organization shuttered to use to that song. Smith won by decision.
