Sandhagen has rattled off three victories in five appearances. The Elevation Fight Team representative last competed at UFC Fight Night 270, where he rebounded from back-to-back losses to T.J. Dillashaw and Peter Yan with a fourth-round technical knockout of Yadong Song. Sandhagen, 30, now sits at 8-3 in the UFC.

Vera, meanwhile, enters the Octagon on the strength of a four-fight winning streak. The Team Oyama product last fought on Aug. 13, when he cut down Dominick Cruz with a head kick in the fourth round of their UFC on ESPN 41 confrontation. The 30-year-old Vera has delivered 16 of his 20 career victories by knockout, technical knockout or submission.

UFC on ESPN 43 “Vera vs. Sandhagen” also features a featherweight clash pairing Nate Landwehr (-210), with Austin Lingo (+165), a women’s flyweight tilt pitting Maycee Barber (-270) against Andrea Lee (+210), a middleweight affair matching Chidi Njokuani (-155) with Albert Duraev (+125) and a flyweight battle slotting Manel Kape opposite Alex Perez (+145).

Featherweights anchor the five-fight undercard, as Tucker Lutz (-280) dukes it out with former two-division Fury Fighting Championship titleholder Daniel Pineda (+210) at 145 pounds. The rest of the lineup: Steven Peterson (-160) vs. Lucas Alexander (+130), Trevin Giles (-120) vs. Preston Parsons (-110), C.J.
