The Ultimate Fighting Championship took over the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, on Saturday for a special matinee event on ESPN. Headlining the marquee was a pivotal welterweight showdown between former 170-pound king Robbie Lawler and the previous interim champ of the division, Colby Covington.

Covington, who has become arguably MMA’s most polarizing fighters, opted to come to battle to “Medal,” the Kurt Angle entrance theme music from Jim Johnston. “Ruthless,” looking to eventually fight for welterweight gold again at some point, chose to be accompanied by the late Johnny Cash’s “Ain’t No Grave.”

Other standout tracks of the night were Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now” (Jim Miller); “Dead or Alive from Bon Jovi (Scott Holtzman); The Fugees’ “Ready or Not” (Jordan Espinosa); and “Ambitionz Az a Ridah” from deceased hip-hop legend 2Pac, courtesy of Claudio Henrique da Silva .
