The Ultimate Fighting Championship returned to the land of amazing death and black metal bands Saturday with UFC Fight Night 153. Anchoring the card, which took place in Stockholm, Sweden, was local hero Alexander Gustafsson taking on Anthony Smith and the music chosen for the event was eclectic, though sadly, nobody selected Swedish metal.

Gustafsson walked out to war underneath the thrilling sounds of the “Rocky IV” training montage, made famous by Vince DiCola. His light heavyweight counterpart strolled to the Octagon to the tunes of Mark Morrison’s “Return of the Mack.”

A trio of other action movies were represented Saturday as “Rocky III,” “Desperado” and “Bloodpsort” left their marks on the Octagon. Damir Hadzovic repped Jean-Claude Van Damme’s amazing movie with “Fight to Survive” while Frank Camacho went with old standby “Eye of the Tiger” from Survivor. Finally, Joel Alvarez chose Los Lobos & Antonio Banderas’s excellent “Cancion Del Mariachi.”
