After a layoff of nearly two months, the Sherdog Staff Pick 'Em league is back, and this week we will take our best shot at UFC 249, the first of three Ultimate Fighting Championship cards in two weeks from Jacksonville, Florida.
Reflecting the backlog of fights, the UFC 249 card is outlandishly stacked. While there are clear favorites in every fight, the only Super Cojones Award up for grabs is on the Jeremy Stephens-Calvin Kattar fight, where The Hive Mind is the only picker willing to go out on a limb for the not so "Lil' Heathen." In the main event, the interim lightweight title fight between Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje, the majority of pickers went with "El Cucuy" to pick up his second interim belt, but it is worth noting that all five staffers who went with Gaethje are picking him to win by knockout inside of three rounds, and in fact, not a one of the 17 pickers thinks the fight will go the distance.
