13 Bouts, Winner Debut Booked for BAMMA 7

The British Association of Mixed Martial Arts now sports a full fight card for its upcoming seventh offering, as 13 bouts are now official for BAMMA 7.

Promotion officials announced eight new matchups Thursday, including the BAMMA debut of ex-UFC lightweight Andre Winner. The Brit will square off with countryman Jason Ball at the Sept. 10 event, which goes down at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, England.

The eight preliminary contests join a five-fight main draw that features former UFC title challenger Frank Trigg locking horns with two-time Bellator veteran Jim Wallhead in the main event. Onetime Strikeforce competitor Joey Villasenor will also compete at the show against Che Mills. Additionally, “Ultimate Fighter” Season 8 winner Efrain Escudero will face Tim Radcliffe in a lightweight confrontation.

Winner (Pictured) was recently bounced from the UFC after suffering consecutive losses to Nik Lentz, Dennis Siver and Anthony Njokuani. The Brit’s most recent defeat was especially brutal, as Njokuani battered Winner for three rounds at UFC 132 on July 2. A “TUF 9” finalist, Winner won two straight UFC bouts after dropping a decision to Ross Pearson in the season finale.

Known as “Daddy Cool,” Ball has lost two of his last three bouts after stringing together four straight wins. A seven-year veteran of the sport, Ball competed at both BAMMA 5 and 6, knocking out Peter Duncan in February before being outpointed by Leonardo Santos in May. Ball holds nine knockouts to his credit and has finished all but two of his career victims.
