32-Man Cast Revealed for ‘The Ultimate Fighter 22: Team McGregor vs. Team Faber’
The roster for the upcoming season of “The Ultimate Fighter” was announced on Monday by the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
The 22nd iteration of the UFC reality show will begin with 32 lightweights from the U.S. and Europe vying for a spot in the “TUF” house. The field will be cut in half during the elimination round, which will be featured in the season premiere Sept. 9 at 10 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.
UFC interim featherweight titlist Conor
McGregor and former 145-pound ruler Urijah Faber
will serve as coaches this season, with McGregor mentoring a squad
of eight Europeans and Faber overseeing a team of eight Americans.
Faber previously coached on “TUF 15” opposite then-bantamweight
champ Dominick
Cruz; “The California Kid” sent two members of his team to the
final that season, with Michael
Chiesa prevailing over Al
Iaquinta.
This season of “TUF” will feature 12 episodes leading up to the live finale on Dec. 11 in Las Vegas.
