Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace A.J. Agazarm will make his third mixed martial arts foray when he squares off against Jonathan Quiroz at Bellator 228.
Sherdog.com recently confirmed the featherweight booking with a promotion official. Bellator 228 takes place at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif., on Sept. 28 and is headlined by a featherweight grand prix bout between reigning 145-pound champ Patricio Freire and Juan Archuleta. Agazarm vs. Quiroz is slated for the preliminary card.
Agazarm, a Gracie-Barra black belt who wrestled at Ohio State University, is 1-1 thus far in his Bellator MMA tenure. He debut with a split-decision loss to Jesse Roberts at Bellator 214 before submitting Jacob Landin with a rear-naked choke in the opening stanza of their Bellator 224 encounter this past July. Agazarm’s first two appearances came at 160 and 155 pounds, respectively.
Quiroz, 32, owns a 3-3 professional mark that includes appearances in the Combate Americas and Legacy Fighting Alliance promotions.
