The booking was first reported by ESPN Deportes’ Carlos Contreras Legaspi.
Costa (13-4) will enter the Octagon on the heels of a unanimous decision loss to Steve Erceg at UFC 295 in November. Prior to that, “Nono” secured a technical knockout victory in the second frame against Jimmy Flick in June, bouncing back from a Round 3 knockout loss in his Ultimate Fighting Championship debut at the hands Amir Albazi.
Meanwhile, Borjas (9-2) is coming off a unanimous decision loss against Myanmar’s Joshua Van in his promotional debut in November. The 26-year-old earned his spot on the UFC roster thanks to a unanimous decision victory against Victor Dias on Dana White’s Contender Series. The win against Dias marked Borjas’ first career decision win.
UFC 301 is expected to be headlined by reigning flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja, with the opponent yet to be finalized. The card will also feature a middleweight clash between Caio Borralho and Paul Craig and lightweight meeting pitting Joaquim Silva against Drakkar Klose.
