By Jordan Breen Feb 13, 2017

This coming Sunday's UFC Fight Night card in Halifax, Nova Scotia is down a fight.

Monday, the Ultimate Fighting Championship announced that a scheduled lightweight contest between Alexander Volkanovski and debuting Michel Quinones has been canceled due to an unspecified injury suffered by Quinones in training.

No replacement is being sought to face Volkanovski and the UFC Fight Night card, the UFC's second from Halifax's Scotiabank Centre, will proceed with 11 bouts.

A winner of 11 straight bouts, Volkanovski make his UFC debut last November at UFC Fight Night “Whittaker vs. Brunson” in his native Australia, knocking Yusuke Kasuya out with ground-and-pound in the second frame.

The 32-year-old Quinones, fighting out of Coral Springs, Fla., has posted a 7-1 pro MMA mark with his lone loss coming in the Bellator MMA cage back in November 2012 to Brandon Girtz.
