Alfie Davis Believes He’s 'World Class' After PFL Tournament Semifinal Win
A longtime veteran of Bellator
MMA, Alfie Davis
came into the 2025 PFL Lightweight World Tournament with a sense of
belonging, and a belief that his career-long goals would finally be
achieved.
The road to getting PFL gold began with Davis defeating former PFL title challenger Clay Collard back in April with a first-round TKO. He then faced former Bellator champion Brent Primus in the semifinals, picking up a very tough hard-fought decision victory.
After losing his promotional debut last year, Davis has gone 2-0 in
2025, and coming into the tournament he said his placement in the
lightweight bracket gave him an opportunity to achieve all that
he’s set out to do. Following his win over Primus, Davis spoke to
the media in his post-fight scrum about being one win away from
seeing all his self-belief come true.

Despite having reached the championship, Davis would add that he’s not fully convinced about where he’s at, and he’ll spend the next eight weeks getting himself to that point.
“I’ve still got eight weeks to convince myself. I’ve got a tough opponent ahead of me next, and that means I’ve still got a journey to climb,” he said.
Just getting to this point is something that Davis believed he was built for, and his body of work in the tournament this year has proven that he is a championship-level contender.
“The body of work this year has been amazing. I feel like something has clicked,” Davis said. “My MMA career has not been what I expected for a while, but now something has clicked. I feel I have something that is world class now.”
Alfie Davis will need to be world class once more against Gadzhi Rabadanov when the two veterans meet in the PFL Lightweight Championship on Aug. 15. While it may not be the path he had expected for himself, Davis is just one win away from his full-circle moment.

“I’m just happy [to be in this spot]. Sometimes you put things out
there and you’re just trying to convince yourself, you don’t know
if it’s actually going to happen,” he said. “Now it’s happening,
and it’s surreal to me. I’m just grateful for these things to
happen.”
