Amateur Matt ‘Danger’ Schnell of MTV’s ‘Caged’ Signs with Legacy FC for September Debut

“Danger” is coming to the Legacy Fighting Championship.

Amateur fighter Matt Schnell, star of MTV’s reality show “Caged,” has signed with the Texas-based promotion and is expected to make his professional debut as a flyweight at LFC 144 on Sept. 14. LFC promoter Mick Maynard announced the news on Friday morning. No matchups have been announced for the event, which will air live on HDNet.

Schnell has racked up a 10-2 record as an amateur competing in his home state of Louisiana. “Danger” emerged from his stint on “Caged” as the most promising fighter featured during the show’s single-season run and has since signed with First Round Management and Punishment Athletics, the latter of which produced a T-shirt featuring the fighter’s nickname.

“Caged” ran for 10 episodes on MTV during the first quarter of 2012, receiving mixed reviews. The series debuted on Jan. 9 and focused on the lives of several young mixed martial artists in the small town of Minden, La. The series finale aired on March 10.
