Andrea Lee to Defend Flyweight Crown in Legacy Fighting Alliance 16 Headliner

Andrea Lee will make her first 125-pound title defense against Davina Maciel in the Legacy Fighting Alliance 16 headliner on July 14.

The promotion announced the matchup on Tuesday. Additionally, ex-Legacy FC featherweight champion Steven Peterson will meet Angel Huerta in the evening’s co-main event. LFA 16 takes place at The Bomb Factory in Dallas and will be televised on AXS-TV at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

Lee has already won her first three fights of 2017, including a split-decision triumph over Liz Tracy in her most recent outing at Invicta FC 23 on May 20. “KGB” captured the inaugural LFA flyweight crown with a third-round submission of Heather Bassett at LFA 4 on Feb. 17. The 28-year-old is 7-2 since beginning her professional career in 2014.

Maciel, meanwhile, owns a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and a brown belt in judo. The Manaus, Brazil, native is 6-1 as a pro, with three wins via submission and one by KO/TKO. Her lone defeat came against top UFC strawweight contender Claudia Gadelha in December 2009.

Three other bouts were announced for the LFA 16 main card: Johnny Bedford vs. Jimmy Flick at bantamweight; Damon Jackson vs. Eliazar Rodriguez at featherweight and Miles Johns vs. Levi Mowles at bantamweight.
