Bellator MMA is heading back to the Pechanga Resort & Casino in October with a card headlined by a welterweight battle between Andrey Koreshkov and Lorenz Larkin.

On Friday, the promotion announced that former welterweight king Koreshkov (22-3) will take on Larkin (20-7, 1 NC) in the main event of Bellator 229, which will take place on Oct. 4 at Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California. The two were previously slated to meet at Bellator 219 this March, and Larkin fell out of the bout after suffering an injury.

Koreshkov bounced back from a technical submission loss to Douglas Lima in the quarterfinals of the Welterweight Grand Prix by beating short-notice replacement Mike Jasper in March. Prior to that loss to Lima, Koreshkov scored one of only four spinning back kick knockouts in Bellator history by demolishing Vaso Bakocevic with one in 66 seconds at Bellator 203.

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship welterweight standout Larkin left the promotion in 2016 and immediately fought for the Bellator title against Lima, although he fell short. The former heavyweight-turned-welterweight has won his last two, in the form of a pair of unanimous decision verdicts over Fernando Gonzalez and Ion Pascu.

Bellator 229 takes place on Oct. 4 at the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California. No other bouts have been announced for the card yet.
