A women’s bantamweight showdown pitting Bethe Correia against Irene Aldana is set for UFC 227.
The promotion recently confirmed the pairing. UFC 227 takes place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Aug. 4 and is headlined by a bantamweight championship rematch between T.J. Dillashaw and Cody Garbrandt.
Correia, a former bantamweight title challenger, hasn’t competed since UFC Fight Night 111 last June, when she suffered a third-round knockout loss to Holly Holm. The 34-year-old Brazilian is 4-3-1 during her promotional tenure and 10-3-1 as a professional overall.
Mexico’s Aldana begin her UFC career with consecutive losses against Leslie Smith and Katlyn Chookagian. The 30-year-old Lobo Gym product earned her first Octagon triumph with a three-round verdict over Talita Bernardo at UFC Fight Night 124 to raise her career record to 8-4.
