A bantamweight scrap pitting Luke Sanders against Chris Gutierrez has been added to the lineup for the UFC’s Aug. 1 event.
MMAjunkie.com was first to report the matchup. The card is expected to be held at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and is headlined by a women’s bantamweight showdown between Holly Holm and Irene Aldana.
Sanders has not competed since scoring a second-round knockout of Renan Barao at UFC on ESPN 1 in February 2019. The former Resurrection Fighting Alliance champion is 3-3 during his stint with the Las Vegas-based organization.
After falling to Raoni Barcelos in his promotional debut at “The Ultimate Fighter 28” finale, Gutierrez has earned successive triumphs over Ryan MacDonald, Geraldo de Freitas Jr. and Vince Morales in UFC competition. The 29-year-old Factory X representative is 15-4-1 over the course of his professional tenure.
