A bantamweight showdown between Ray Rodriguez and Chris Gutierrez will serve as the headliner for Legacy Fighting Alliance 52 on Oct. 19.
The promotion recently announced the pairing. LFA 52 takes place at Bell County Expo Center in Belton, Texas and will be televised on AXS-TV at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
"I am excited to bring LFA to the Centroplex of Texas at LFA 52," LFA CEO Ed Soares said in a release. "Ray Rodriguez and Chris Gutierrez are two of the top prospects in Texas and they both looked great in their LFA debuts. Now they have the chance to gain Texas bragging rights, while establishing divisional dominance.”
Rodriguez has won eight bouts in a row, including a split verdict against Rivaldo Junior at LFA 6 in March 2017. More recently, “The Judge” stopped Michael Rodriguez in the opening stanza at Combate Americas 19 this past December. The 30-year-old San Antonio, Texas, native is 13-4 as a professional overall.
A 15-fight veteran with experience in World Series of Fighting and Bellator, Gutierrez enters the matchup on a two-fight winning streak. The 27-year-old Factory X product is 11-3-1 over the course of his career, including six wins via KO/TKO.
