Bellator 106 Salaries: Eddie Alvarez, Michael Chandler, Joe Riggs Top Payroll

Eddie Alvarez and Michael Chandler staged a memorable rematch at Bellator 106, and both lightweights were compensated handsomely for their efforts.

Alvarez took home $160,000 after avenging his Bellator 58 loss to Chandler ($95,000) with a split-decision triumph in the evening’s headliner at Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, Calif., on Saturday night.

Joe Riggs was the card’s other top earner, as “Diesel” made $100,000 for outpointing Mike Bronzoulis ($5,000) in the “Fight Master” finale. Riggs received a $95,000 bonus for winning the reality show. The figures were released Sunday by the California State Athletic Commission.

Bellator 106 included two more title bouts, as Emanuel Newton ($20,000) defeated Muhammed Lawal ($10,000) for a second time to capture the promotion’s interim light heavyweight strap, while Daniel Straus ($40,000) upset Pat Curran ($40,000) in a 145-pound championship tilt.
