Derek Bohi vs. Alex Huddleston

Round 1

Huddleston circles the cage and Bohi opens with an outside low kick. Huddleston returns fire with a pair of low kicks of his own. Bohi scores with a straight left down the center and again returns to the low kick. Bohi changes levels for a takedown but the sprawl is there for Huddleston. Bohi turtles up on the ground as Huddleston lands several thudding shots from top position. Bohi turns and Huddleston goes to work in his full guard. Bohi scrambles out looking for a possible kimura, but Huddleston escapes the position. Huddleston attempts to step over into full mount and after a scramble briefly looks for an anaconda choke. He abandons the choke and opts for ground and pound, scoring with a solid right hand under the armpit of Bohi. He continues his attack, landing several thudding right hands to the head of his opponent, and the referee has no choice but to intervene.

Aaron Derrow vs. Nate Jolly

Round 1

The lightweights quickly take the center and exchange range finding jabs. Jolly scores with an overhand right. The lanky Derrow lands a solid outside low kick and continues probing out his jab. Jolly again scores with an overhand right and then charges forward looking for a takedown. Jolly in the waist lock position against the cage looking for a trip, but defends well and the fight again takes the center. Jolly clips the Missouri native with a pair of left hands. Derrow utilizing a jab-low kick combination. Derrow tags Jolly with a looping left hand that briefly drops the Ohio native to the canvas. Derrow quickly ties his opponent up against the cage but after a period on inaction, the fight is restarted. Derrow continues with his chopping leg kicks while sneaking in a short left hook. Jolly lands a solid low kick of his own and the fighter exchange at the horn.

Round 2

Jolly opens the second round with a quick jab-cross combination as the fighters exchange in the center. Derrow is using his length well as he continues to paw out his long left jab. Jolly completes a body lock takedown and drags “Daddy Long Legs” to the mat. Derrow returns to his feet in short order, but Jolly does his best to press him against the fence. Derrow lands a knee to the midsection in the clinch. Jolly drops down for another takedown, but Derrow defends and the fight again takes the center of the cage. Midway through the stanza Derrow is trying to use his jab. Jolly scores with a right hand and then changes levels, slamming Derrow to the canvas. Derrow now using a high guard and transitions to an omoplata. Jolly manages to pull his arm out and returns to his opponent’s full guard. Jolly stands up and pounces on Derrow with a hard right hand. Jolly sits in Derrow’s closed guard as the round comes to an end.

Round 3

The final round begins with Derrow pumping his jab in the face of his opponent. Derrow scores with a sharp right uppercut and follows with another. Derrow using a lot of lateral movement, looking to counter his shorter opponent. Jolly steps in with a short left hand and then immediately switches to a takedown. Derrow jumps back to his feet and and ties his man up against the fence. He scores with a couple knees to the midsection but the fighters separate. Midway through this final round, Derrow continues to land his jabs. Jolly changes levels for a takedown and Derrow locks up a standing guillotine choke, pushing “Ladies Love” to the fence. Jolly is out of danger from the guillotine and after a short period, the fight is restarted in the center. Jolly now stalking forward. The lightweights tie up in the clinch and jockey for position against the cage. In the final thirty seconds, Jolly looks for a takedown. Derrow again counters with a guillotine attempt, and spins out to land in Jolly’s full guard. Derrow slams his opponent several times on the canvas before the final bell sounds.

Darrion Caldwell vs. Anthony Dizy

Round 1

Caldwell opens with a right high kick and immediately changes levels, completing a single-leg takedown. Caldwell going to work in half guard, scoring with a hard right hand down the center. Dizy turns, attempting a single-leg of his own, but Caldwell keeps his top pressure. Caldwell now sits in the head lock position and quickly turns out, landing in the half guard of the Frenchman. Caldwell moves into side control and Dizy looks for a sweep. Caldwell is all over Dizy with constant pressure. The NCAA wrestling champion briefly takes back mount, but Dizy turns out. Caldwell now pressuring Dizy against the cage. The Frenchman is staying active from bottom, but so far has no answer for the wrestling of the two time All-American. Caldwell lands a pair of short elbows as the bell sounds.

Round 2

Caldwell opens up with a side kick followed by an overhand left. Caldwell utilizing some kicks here in the second. Dizy changes levels for a takedown and Caldwell locks up a guillotine choke. Dizy moves the fight to the fence and manages to pop his head out of danger. Now it’s Dizy in top position working from half guard. Caldwell is fishing for a kimura as Dizy lands several hard elbows. Caldwell spins out and takes top position. Caldwell in the head lock position. Dizy ends up in top position after a scramble and Caldwell threatens with a possible triangle. Caldwell escapes off his back and the fight is again standing. The fighters exchange punches near the cage and Dizy changes levels for a takedown. Caldwell sprawls nicely and spins to take the back of the Frenchman. Dizy turns out and Caldwell ends up in top position against the fence.

Round 3

Caldwell opens with a pair of javs and a left high kick. Dizy again looks for the takedown but Caldwell defends. Caldwell looks for a takedown of his own now, but it’s Dizy sprawling. Caldwell scrambles his way to Dizy’s back, but only has a single hook secured. Dizy uses the space to turn out but “The Wolf” is all over him. After another scramble Caldwell briefly ends up in side control, but Dizy nearly makes it back to his feet. Caldwell again attaches himself to the Frenchman’s back and drags his opponent back down to the canvas. Caldwell moves into half guard, but there isn’t much offensive output, prompting a call for action from referee Rob Hinds. With one minute left in the bout, it’s more of the same, as Caldwell keeps pressuring from top position while Dizy scrambles from the bottom. Caldwell lands a few short punches at the bell.

Round 1

Oropeza opens in the southpaw stance, pawing out several range finding rights. Oropeza scores with a pair of outside low kicks. Oropeza mixing his kicks up well to start the bout, going low than high. Tapusoa lunges forward for a left hook but nothing lands. Oropeza again lands a chopping outside low kick. Tapusoa ties Oropeza up to the fence, and Oropeza threatens with a guillotine. Oropeza transitions to the back and begins landing several hard punches from top position. Oropeza in half guard now, raining down a series of scorching elbows to the face of Tapusoa. Referee Bobby Wombacher calls for Tapusoa to improve his position, but after a flurry of thudding punches he moves in to call the the TKO stoppage.

Gzim Selmani vs. Daniel Gallemore

Round 1

John McCarthy will officiate this heavyweight bout. Selmani immediately changes levels for a takedown, and drags Gallemore to the mat. The Albanian now working from half guard, driving his left elbow into the face of Gallemore. A cut has opened on the scalp of Gallemore, and Selmani postures up to land a series of hard punches. Selmani now looking for a possible guilltone from side control as Gallemore’s blood spills on the mat. Midway through the round Selmani continues to punish his opponent from side control. Gallemore finds his way to his feet, but Selmani quickly drops for another takedown. The two heavyweights stand and exchange wild punches against the fence. Selmani scores with a massive knee upstairs that wobbles the Kansas native. Gallemore manages to stay standing and the wild exchange continues. Gallemore lands a knee upstairs of his own, prompting Selmani to again change levels. Gallemore defends and circles out, attacking with Selmani’s back to the cage. Gallemore lands a pair of solid uppercuts as the bell sounds.

Round 2

The heavyweights slowly take the center. Gallemore presses forward with punches against the cage. Selmani now moves forward with a right hand upstairs. Gallemore responds with a combination of punches of his own, rocking the Albanian’s head back. “Big Kansas” ties Selmani up against the fence. Selmani now looking for a takedown, and completes the double-leg against the cage. The Golden Glory product transitions to side control. Selmani now looking for a north-south choke, but after a few seconds abandons the submission. With two minutes left in the round, it’s Selmani in side control with not much offensive output. After a lull in action referee John McCarthy calls for the stand up. Now it’s Gallemore pumping his jab in the Albanian’s face. Both fighters appear to me dead tired, but Gallemore is pressing forward. The Kansas native scores with a right hook and begins punishing Selmani against the fence with punches. Gallemore is continually mixing it up to the head and body, eventually dropping Selmani with a right hand upstairs to force the stoppage.

Round 1

Carrillo opens with a right low kick while circling the cage. Navarro trying to cut off the cage. Carrillo charges forward with a fluid punching combination scoring several punches upstairs. Navarro continues moving towards his opponent and Carrillo lands a hard right hand over the top. Carrillo continues scoring with several strike combinations, mixing it up with low kicks and punches. Navarro leaps forward with a right hand. The fighters exchange low kicks and Carrillo falls to the mat. Carrillo looking for the upkick as Navarro looks to strike from top position instead of engaging on the mat. Carrillo returns to his feet and lands a solid left body kick. Carrillo lands several hard elbows from the collar tie, rocking Navarro’s head back against the cage. Carrillo’s face is bloodied up, and Navarro looks for a combination as the round ends.

Round 2

Carrillo tags Navarro with a hard outside low kick and rushes in with a uppercut-hook combination. Carrillo leaps forward with jumping knee, but it doesn’t land clean. Navarro throws a partially blocked high kick. Navarro is doing a better job cutting off the cage here in the second. Navarro lands an accidental low blow, and referee Rob Hinds calls a break in the action. After a quick break the fight resumes and Carrillo lands a hard right hand upstairs. Navarro pressing forward against his circling opponent and scores with a pair of right hands to the face. Navarro clips Carrillo with a high kick that backs him up to the cage. Navarro lands a hard right hand upstairs. Carrillo changes levels for a takedown and ends up in the body lock position against the fence. Navarro looks for a trip, but the fighters eventually circle out to the center. Carrillo has visibly slowed here in the second, as Navarro punishes him against the cage with a series of right hands.

Round 3

Navarro quickly backs his opponent up to the fence and lands an inside low kick. Carrillo throws a couple high kicks, but nothing landing clean. Navarro now on the attack, landing a chopping outside low kick followed by right hands up top. Navarro with a left hook to the liver followed by a right upstairs. Navarro has really found his range here in the thirst as he punches his opponent against the cage. Navarro explodes forward with a switch kick to the body, and follows with an onslaught of punches that drops Carrillo to the mat. Navarro pounces on his opponent with a series of thudding hammer fists and Carrillo taps out, signaling that he’s had enough.

Joe Wilk vs. Ricky Musgrave

Round 1

The featherweights take the center and Musgrave opens with pair of lunging jabs. The fighters exchange low kicks and Wilk dives in for a takedown. The Strikeforce vet completes the takedown near the fence and quickly moves into side control. Wilk now trying to set up an armbar, but ends up in the head lock position. Wilk tries to lock in a guillotine choke, but Musgrave defends well, eventually exploding to his feet. Wilk continues pressuring against the cage. Musgrave rushes forward with a combination, landing a hard knee upstairs in the exchange that floors Wilk. Musgrave immediately jumps on his opponent, landing a torrent of punches and elbows. John McCarthy warns the Kansas native to improve his position, but after additional punches, jumps in to save Wilk from further punishment.

Dave Jansen vs. Rick Hawn

Round 1

The lightweights circle the center of the cage and Jansen opens with a sharp inside low kick. Jansen working his low kicks early as Hawn looks to get inside with his jab. Jansen circling to his left while continuing to pepper Hawn’s lead leg. Hawn catches a kick and briefly brings the fight to the canvas, but the lightweights stand in short order. Jansen is mixing up his kicks and scores with a right hand upstairs on the Olympic judo player. Not much offensive output from Hawn to start the fight. Midway through the round Hansen throws out a series of unorthodox kicks, but nothing landing. Jansen again slams a hard kick into the lead leg of Hawn. Now it’s Hawn pressing forward with a left-right combination. Jansen lunges forward with a jab looking for a high kick. Hawn scores with a right hand down the middle. Jansen feints a level change and the two lightweight exchange in the pocket. The round ends with Hawn backpedaling.

Round 2

Hawn opens the round pawing out his left hand. Jansen immediately continues his low kick attack, stinging the lead leg of “Genghis”. Jansen mixing it up well, scoring while getting in and out of the pocket. Jansen lands a hard right hand upstairs. “The Fugitive” hammers another low kick, prompting Hawn to change stances. Hawn scores with a short combination up top, but now it’s Jansen pushing forward. Hawn looking to counter, and catches a body kick from Jansen, briefly pushing him to the fence. The two disengage and return to the center while Jansen continues attacking the legs. With 1:30 left on the clock Jansen is mixing it up with his kicks and lands a solid left uppercut. Hawn scores with a short right hand but it’s Jansen pressing forward. Jansen continues to press on and the fighters have a short exchange at the bell.

Round 3

The final round begins and Jansen continues his kicking attack. Jansen explodes forward landing a right hand and scored with a couple solid knees in the clinch. Hawn is looking to counter but Jansen is staying off center while landing his leg kicks. Jansen mixing in oblique kicks now. Hawn catches a kick and scores an overhand right, but Jansen is not phased. Halfway through the final round Hawn continues to backpedal while being out-struck by “The Fugitive”. Jansen’s offensive output is stifling the former Olympian’s attack. In the final minute, Jansen wades forward with punching combinations. Hawn clips his opponent with a back fist, but Jansen shakes it off with ease. The two lightweights exchange punches at the final bell.

Marloes Coenen vs. Annalisa Bucci

Round 1

Coenen rushes to the center and immediately completes a body lock takedown. Bucci attempts to scramble to her feet and Coenen transitions to her opponent’s back. Coenen locks in both hooks and looks to sink in a possible rear-naked choke. Bucci does a good job defending and turns turns into top position inside Coenen’s guard. Coenen keeping an active guard from bottom while Bucci’s offense has been limited. Coenen sits up looking for a head lock position, but referee John McCarthy stands the fighters up. Coenen scores with a lead left hand and then tires her opponent up against the cage. Coenen changes levels and completes a takedown landing in half guard. The former Strikeforce champion postures up and isolates Buccie’s arm, looking for a possible submission as the round comes to an end.

Round 2

Coenen pushes forward quickly landing a right-left combination. Coenen ties Bucci up near the fence and completes an outside trip, landing in the Italian’s closed guard. Coenen now working from top position, landing short punches. Coenen stands and passes to half guard, but quickly transitions to her foe’s back. Bucci scrambles out of the position and ends up inside Coenen’s closed guard. Coenen completes a sweep from butterfly guard and looks to isolate her opponent’s arm. Bucci using wrist control as Coenen looks to take her back, but the Italian manages to turn into top position once again. Not much offense to speak of for Bucci, as referee John McCarthy calls for more action. Coenen lands a few short elbows from the bottom as the bell sounds.

Round 3

The featherweights exchange in the pocket and Coenen completes a takedown near the fence. Bucci attempts to return to her feet and Coenen looks to take Bucci’s back. During the scramble Coenen sinks in a no hooks rear-naked choke from the side. It’s an awkward position, but Coenen manages to produce enough torque to force the tap.

Bobby Lashley vs. Karl Etherington

Round 1

Etherington ties his opponent up in the center, but Lashley reverses position against the fence. Etherington lands an accidental low blow and the fight resumes after a very short break. “The Wrecking Machine” pushes forward with a combination of hooks, backing Lashley up to the fence. Etherington looks for a hip toss but seems to fall off balance directly to the canvas. Lashley immediately dives on his opponent with a series of thudding right hands to the temple. Referee Rob Hinds gives Etherington a few seconds to recover, but Lashley continues his attack until his opponent taps from the punishment.

Bellator Light Heavyweight Title Fight:
Emanuel Newton vs. Linton Vassell

Round 1

John McCarthy draws officiating duties for this light heavyweight title bout. Newton opens up with a overhand right followed by a spinning kick. Vassell lands a solid outside low kick and Newton pushes forward with punches. Slow start in the first minute and half as the fighters continue to feel each other out. Newton attempts a spinning back fist and Vassell answers with a high kick. Newton looks for a takedown and Vassell threatens with a guillotine. Vassell finds his way back to his feet and then completes a takedown on his own. Vassell slides into full mount and Newton turns to give up his back. Vassell locks up the body triangle with over 1:30 left on the clock. Vassell loosens his grip and Newton reverses position. Vassell completes a sweep with a kimura. Newton looks for a guillotine but gives up position, resulting in Vassell taking his back. The Englishman moves to mount and Newton escapes out of the back door. The round ends with Netwon in top position.

Round 2

Vassell pushes forward and lands a solid outside low kick. Newton changes levels and hoists the challenger in the air, but lands with Vassell in the head lock position. Newton scrambles and moves into top position. Vassell locks up a kimura from the bottom and sweeps Newton into full mount. Newton again manages to escape the mount and end up on top. Now it’s the champion looking to take Vassell’s back. Vassell sweeps Newton landing in side control, and begins landing several hard elbows to the temple of “The Hardcore Kid.” With two minutes left in the round it’s Vassell going to work from top position, landing thudding elbows. Vassell transitions to Newton’s back during a scramble but can only manage to sink a single hook. Vassell finally completes the second hook, and immediately sinks in a rear-naked choke. Newton turns out of the choke and once again escapes from the back door. Now it’s Newton in top position landing lefts and rights to the Vassell’s head as the bell sounds.

Round 3

Newton opens with an overhand right followed by a side kick. The champion is feinting his spinning attacks and manages to land a kick to the chest of Vassell. Newton connect with an inadvertent low blow, prompting John McCarthy to call a break in the action. After a short break, the fight resumes. Newton charges forward with a right hand over the top and follows with an outside low kick. Another right hand scores for Newton. And another. Newton completes a takedown from the body lock position and looks to take the challenger’s back. Midway through the round it’s Newton landing peppering shots from top position. Vassell latches onto a kimura and attempts to sweep, but Newton holds his position. Newton riding the back of the Englishman while landing short punches. Vassell turns and Newton enters his half guard, but the challenger completes a sweep, ending up in the head lock position. The fighters stand and Newton attempts a body lock takedown, but Vassell ends up in full mount. The challenger lands a couple solid punches as the round ends.

Round 4

Newton connects with a left hook and changes level to complete a takedown. The champion ends up in half guard and begins to go to work. “The Hardcore Kid” is trying to keep pressure on his opponent, landing several short elbows. Not much activity from Vassell off his back as Newton continues hammering short elbows to the temple. Halfway through the round and the champion keeps his top position. Vassell regains his guard but in unable to do much from bottom. Newton lands a couple thudding elbows over the top and Vassell attempts to sit up. Vassell rolls to improve his position, but Newton continues riding the back of the challenger while landing short punches.

Round 5

Vassell charges forward looking for a takedown, but Newton defends well, ending up in top position. Vassell desperately looking for the takedown as the champion continues to sprawl his shots. After another failed double-leg attempt, Newton circles his the Englishman’s back, immediately sinking in a rear-naked choke. The choke is deep and Vassell is left with no choice but to submit. Emanuel Newton has successfully defended his title for the second time.
