Zach Rosol vs. Alonzo Menifield

Round 1

(+ Enlarge) | Photo: Dave Mandel/Sherdog.com

Menifield put Rosol away with leather.
Menifield comes out and tags Rosol with a quick left hook, then a low kick, then another quality left hand. Rosol is already thinking takedown, dropping levels and running at Menifield. The Texan easily shrugs the takedown off and clocks Rosol with a counter right hook to boot. Rosol goes down in a heap, and Menifield is all over him in a heartbeat. The Iowan's arm is pinned underneath his own body, giving him absolutely no protection from Menifield's incoming onslaught. “Big” John McCarthy intervenes in a hurry to rescue to Rosol.

The Official Result

Alonzo Menifield def. Zach Rosol via TKO (Punches) R1 0:38

Arlene Blencowe vs. Gabrielle Holloway

Round 1

Blencowe edges toward Holloway, tagging her with right crosses and low kicks until stepping into a clinch. Holloway turns her around, but Blencowe disengages, landing a knee on the break. Blencowe gets right back to work with her striking, forcing Holloway into a sloppy shot from far outside, stuffing it, then working a headlock. She gets sloppy and Holloway rolls into a takedown, claiming top position. Holloway moves to half control, knuckling Blencowe and trying to move to full mount, but the Australian regains full guard. Blencowe shrimps back to the fence, striking from back, then sliding to her feet via the cage wall. Blencowe misses a Superman punch, but follows up with two grazing rights that prompt another stuffed Holloway shot.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Blencowe
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Blencowe
Jeff Miller scores the round 10-9 Blencowe

Round 2

Blencowe backs Holloway down once more, but Holloway uses a front kick to keep distance, then shoots and puts her down. This time, “Gabanator” moves into full mount quickly, basing down and landing grinding punches on the Australian. Blencowe arches her hips, but can't muster any explosion to escape as Holloway works her mount higher, then lands a hard torrent of forearms. Blencowe turns, Holloway tries to take her back but Blencowe shakes her off and winds up in full guard. When Blencowe tries to throw some punches, Holloway frames up a triangle, then switches to an armbar as Blencowe stacks her. Blencowe stays low and breaks the armbar posture, then yanks herself out of Holloway's guard with two minutes left in the round. They stand up, Holloway dives in on a low single, picks Blencowe's leg up, then trips her right out. Holloway back on top in full guard in the center of the cage, but it goes nowhere, leading to referee Jason Herzog standing the women up. Blencowe chases Holloway again, but Holloway surprises with a head kick that slows her roll. Holloway gets in on another takedown late, but nearly winds up in a Blencowe triangle at the bell.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Holloway
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Holloway
Jeff Miller scores the round 10-9 Holloway

Round 3

Blencowe is again aggressive in her pursuit, lunging into the clinch with knees to the body as Holloway tries to toss her to the mat. Blencowe controls Holloway's hips as the American turns and tries to toss her, then pushes away. Holloway shoots another low single, but Blencowe defends and forces her to turtle, but the Aussie gets too aggressive trying to take Holloway's back, and winds up getting tripped onto her back again. Both women boxing one another's ears from Blencowe's full guard. Blencowe shrimps back to the fence and works back to her feet, but Holloway stays glued to her waist and works her way to an outside trip, landing in Blencowe's half guard with just over two minutes left to fight, then quickly passing into full mount.

(+ Enlarge) | Photo: D. Mandel/Sherdog.com

Blencowe edged Holloway on the cards.
Blencowe eats a few shots, but then kicks off the fence to escape, rushing at Holloway with punches. In the scramble, Holloway rolls for a takedown and eats a knee from Blencowe while downed, so the action is paused while Holloway takes a moment to recover. On the restart, the women touch gloves, then trade hard kicks to the body. Holloway shoots a single, Blencowe sprawls and tries to take the back again. Her first attempt is unsuccessful, but on the second attempt, she goes over the top, grabbing Holloway's right arm and locking on an armbar. She extends it for a moment, but Holloway alleviates the pressure and waits out the bell with Blencowe clinging
to her wrist.

Andre Santos vs. Josh Neer

Round 1

Santos clinches Neer quickly, moving him back to the cage while Neer lands knees to the body. Hard pummeling and infighting for a solid 90-plus seconds until Neer finally gets free. “The Dentist” lunges at Santos, eating a wild left hand from the Brazilian en route to grabbing a collar tie. Neer lands knees inside, but the Brazilian bats him around for a moment with heavy, looping punches. Neer keeps trying to grab “Chatuba,” but succeeds only in eating punches from his flailing foe. Santos shoots a single, Neer shuts it down, sits on it and takes top position for himself, pounding from half guard. Neer rides Santos' leg as he turns, pounding away and trying to take the back until the Brazilian reaches his feet late in the round. Santos touches Neer with a wild overhand right before the bell.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Neer
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Neer
Jeff Miller scores the round 10-9 Neer

Round 2

Neer gets in on a single-leg takedown to start the second round, but when Santos threatens a guillotine, he tosses him away before shooting in for a double moments later. “The Dentist” pulls Santos to the ground, then steps over into a headlock as his opponent tries to get back up. Santos shows his back but gets back to his feet, leaving Neer clinging to his waist. Santos turns around, then Neer socks him with a right hook on the break. Neer lands an overhand right, then back Santos up with an awkward, rushing jab. Neer runs into another clinch, wading through more wild punching from the Brazilian, then dropping for a takedown. Santos defends ably, then pushes Neer away with about 90 seconds left in the round. More wild, flailing standup from both men, but nothing of substance lands, so Neer runs Santos into a clinch. Santos separates and starts raking Neer with both hands. “The Dentist” has his hands up, but is still eating leather. For some reason, Santos shoots in despite rocking the UFC veteran. Neer initially defends, but Santos elevates and slams him with 10 seconds left.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Santos
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Santos
Jeff Miller scores the round 10-9 Santos

Round 3

(+ Enlarge) | Photo: D. Mandel/Sherdog.com

Santos won rounds two and three.
Santos swats at Neer with tired arm punches, letting Neer jam him with a hard right and a leg kick before another clinch. Both guys sock each other up inside, but Santos lands a hard right uppercut and several follow-up hooks on Neer, whose defense is completely negligible here. Neer grabs over-unders but can't keep Santos on the fence, as the Brazilian turns away, then shoots in on another takedown. Neer sprawls but Santos keeps driving on a single until “The Dentist” is able to turn the corner and take his back briefly. Santos scrambles back to his feet and Neer chops at his legs from the outside.

Santos wades forward with two wide hooks that lands nicely, albeit with next to no technique. At the 10-second clapper, Santos lunges forward with a hard right uppercut, then backs Neer up winging shots until the final bell.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Santos (29-28 Santos)

Julia Budd vs. Roberta Paim Rovel

Round 1

Paim closes distance and tags Budd with a right hand, leading to a smothering Budd clinch against the fence. Budd grinds her opponent up against the wall while landing knees to the ribs and stomping Paim's feet. Paim turns Budd around, but Budd's size and strength allows her to land another series of knees to the body, then turn Paim back around. Not much action as the pair just turn one another around on the fence, landing short knees inside without much real positional jockeying. Finally with a minute left in the opening frame, Paim looks for a trip takedown but can't get it. Right hook and a knee to the ribs from Budd, who presses Paim to the cage again. Two more knees from Budd register before the bell.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Budd
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Budd
Jeff Miller scores the round 10-9 Budd

Round 2

The featherweights resume clinching along the fence quickly, but Paim secures double underhooks this time and lands some more substantial knees of her own, but when she goes for an outside trip again, Budd grabs an underhook and turns her around. It's more and more grinding until Paim attempts a low single which puts Budd on the ground for a brief second, but “The Jewel” jumps right back to her feet, gets double underhooks, and rams her kneecap into Paim's body. They get back to over-unders and trade knees to the ribs before Paim half-heartedly drops for a single for a brief moment. With 10 seconds to go, Paim tries to let loose with her hands while Budd front kicks her foe to keep the distance.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-10
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Budd
Jeff Miller scores the round 10-10

Round 3

(+ Enlarge) | Photo: D. Mandel/Sherdog.com

Budd dominated Rovel for 15.
Paim opens up with hooks and wild uppercuts, chasing Budd back to the cage, but inevitably creating a clinch along the cage where the women jockey with over-unders, throwing knees to the body. It's just the same old fight as the first two rounds, when all of a sudden, Budd drops levels and looks for a takedown, snagging up Paim's leg and dumping her on the mat the halfway mark of the round. Budd chips away with punches on top, moving to half guard. Paim looks for a leglock, but Budd rolls through and pounds away while the Brazilian plays footsie with her.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Budd (30-28 Budd)
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Budd (30-27 Budd)

Ben Reiter vs. Francisco France

Round 1

Reiter inches toward France, firing his right hand, then running into the clinch where he grinds on the Brazilian inside, throwing short right elbows. Reiter changes levels and looks to hit a double, but France defends and escapes back to open space. Reiter closes the gap quickly again, running France into the fence, getting his takedown stuffed, letting off a few punches, then rinsing and repeating. France separates and grazes Reiter with two hard left hands. Reiter walks right into a left from France, but finally sets up a successful takedown with a minute to go in the round. Reiter works from half guard, firing away with right hands on France, then using his right arm to flatten his man out with a half nelson. France gets full guard back before the bell to abate the pounding.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Reiter
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Reiter
Jeff Miller scores the round 10-9 Reiter

Round 2

(+ Enlarge) | Photo: D. Mandel/Sherdog.com

France put Reiter away with a RNC.
The middleweight come together in a clinch without hesitation, Reiter grinding his head into France's jaw and looking to open up a takedown. He changes levels for one but can't secure the leg, letting “Kiko” turn the corner and take his back in a hurry. France is already working on the rear-naked choke by the time he sinks his hooks in and once he locks in the position, Reiter is completely trapped. “The Hunter” freezes for a moment, then taps out in resignation as France hands him the first loss of his pro career.

The Official Result

Francisco France def. Ben Reiter via Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) R2 1:08

Stephen Banaszak vs. George Pacurariu

Round 1

Pacurariu begins with hard outside low kicks, so Banaszak looks to respond with wild spinning back kicks in response. Pacurariu loads up a big right hand as Banaszak throws and knocks him to the mat, but Banaszak gets his wits back and the Romanian lets him retake his feet.

(+ Enlarge) | Photo: D. Mandel/Sherdog.com

Banaszak caught and finished Pacurariu.
Pacurariu crushing the lead leg of Banaszak, then hits a headlock throw right into scarf position along the fence. Pacurariu tries to step over Banaszak's arm and grab a scarf hold armlock, but can't quite trap him. Banaszak rolls into top position but can't hold Pacurariu down, as he slides up the fence and to his feet. “The Fear” trips Pacurariu right back to the canvas, landing in full mount with about two minutes to go. The Texan is able to lock up a guillotine from full mount, then rolls to full guard hoping to complete it. It's deep and Pacurariu fights it hard, wrenching his neck and trying to free his head, but he can't get free.

Banaszak keeps popping his hips and wrenching and eventually, Pacurariu stops fighting it and taps out.

The Official Result

Stephen Banaszak def. George Pacurariu via Submission (Guillotine Choke) R1 3:42

Guilherme Viana vs. Houston Alexander

Round 1

Viana paws with his jab and throws strikes at the air, while Alexander moves his stance up and down, shooting right crosses to the body. Alexander digs to the body twice, but Viana tags him with a left hook up top. Alexander walks face-first into a Vianna left hand, then a two-piece. Alexander keeps throwing rights to the body in the same fashion, so Viana tunes him with a pair of left hands, the first staggering him, the second knocking him down. Alexander crumbles to the mat, but Viana just lets him get back up at the halfway mark of the round to resume the boxing beatdown. Both men just miss with wild rights, but Viana punctuates his miss with a hard knee. Viana's jab and power shots have reddened Alexander's eyes and nose, and his right eye is starting to close.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Viana
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Viana
Jeff Miller scores the round 10-9 Viana

Round 2

Alexander assumes the center of the cage and pumps his jab, but Viana reaches him first with the longer lead hand. The Brazilian fires a wide-fetching left hook that just grazes Alexander and seems to hurt him, but when Viana rushes him, Alexander defensively drops into a double-leg takedown, they spill to the mat and roll back to their feet. Very quickly, Viana rocks Alexander again, then staves off a takedown from “The Assassin,” sitting on the attempt and pounding on Alexander while the UFC vet tries to slide up the cage.

(+ Enlarge) | Photo: D. Mandel/Sherdog.com

Viana carved up Alexander's face.
Alexander gets to his feet but gets pulled back to his knees, allowing Viana to sink one of his hooks in. Viana rides Alexander's leg and uses a half nelson to control him while trying to insert his second hook. Alexander won't give the second hook up, but he's trapped in the turtle position, eating hammerfists and bleeding from below his left eye. Alexander fights back to his feet and they separate. With a minute to go in the middle round, Viana takes a deep breath, then circles the bloodied Alexander while pumping his jab out. Both men use the last 30 seconds of the round to take a breather.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Viana
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Viana

Ricky Rainey vs. Chidi Njokuani

Round 1

Rainey can't buy the foot sweep he's looking for, but drives a knee into Njokani's body. Rainey grinds for a moment until “Chidi Bang Bang” turns him around and drives home some knees of his own. Rainey gets to the taller man's waist, turning him around, stomping the feet and delivering more knees up against the fence. Njokuani seems content to lay against the cage and defend for the most part. Njokuani gets to Rainey's neck and sticks him with a knee, but Rainey smothers him up again and neutralizes until referee John McCarthy splits the pair. On the restart, Rainey shoots a single, gets stuffed, then Njokuani hits a go-behind, trying to trip his leg out as the round ends.

Rainey feints side to side, chasing Njokuani straight back, all the way back to the fence, smothering him and trapping his wrist. Rainey gets to Njokuani's waist and swings him to the mat at the three-minute mark of the round, but Njokuani's hips never hit the mat. They come back up along the cage and John McCarthy separates them with 90 seconds left. Rainey dashes forward with two wild-but-accurate crosses, forcing Njokuani to his heels again. Rainey drops for a double-leg and rather than defend, Njokuani chooses to elbow his foe, so he ends up on the mat.

(+ Enlarge) | Photo: D. Mandel/Sherdog.com

Njokuani put trademarks around Rainey’s eyes.
Fortunately for him, Njokuani slides right back to feet at the midway point of the round. Rainey pushes for a single-leg takedown in close this time, while Njokuani figure-fours Rainey's arm to defend. Even John McCarthy is getting bored of this, so he splits the two up once more. Njokuani sticks two jabs, but has his two head kicks blocked. Rainey's right eye is swollen shut, but both score in a close flurry anyhow. Njokuani kicks to the body and it leads to a clinch. Bubba Jenkins vs. Jordan Parsons

Round 1

Jenkins comes out with low kicks, then a spinning back kick before closing in on Parsons with a power double. Parsons lands on the mat, but is near the fence, so he snakes up to his feet. Jenkins goes behind him and hits a beautiful back suplex, but can't keep his man down. Parsons gets his feet back and Jenkins threatens his back briefly before drilling a hard knee to the chest. Back at range, Parsons shows his kicks now, going low and high to touch the southpaw Jenkins. Jenkins drops levels and doubles Parsons to the mat again, trapping him and forcing him to his knees, then taking his back with one hook, but Parsons stands and shakes him off once more. Parsons glances Jenkins with two long right crosses, then an inside low kick. Jenkins circles the outside, then hits Parsons with a low cut kick, but has a roundhouse kick upstairs blocked. Parsons grazes Jenkins with a right hook and foces him to shoot, catching a headlock and forcing the former ASU Sun Devil to his knees. Jenkins still circling the outside while Parsons pursues, landing a knee to the body and escaping. Parsons pops Jenkins' head back with a jab, Jenkins touches his nose with a jab, then Parsons lands a glancing right. Nice back and forth. Jenkins keeps circling the outside before unloading a left head kick that leaves Parson stumbling on rubber legs. As soon as Jenkins sees “The Pretty Boy” is hurt, he dives on his man, but Parsons recovers his wits and gets a hold of a kimura to buy himself some time on the ground. Jenkins lands a few hooks from a waist lock, then throws another head kick as Parsons reaches his feet. Round 1

(+ Enlarge) | Photo: D. Mandel/Sherdog.com

Girtz mauled Campos in mere seconds.
After a few moments of feinting and feeling out, Campos looks to step into Girtz's range and it's a mistake. Girtz quickly clocks him with a grazing left, then a harder left that backs him up. Unfortunately for Campos, it's not the end: Girtz doubles his power right and clobbers Campos, knocking him flat on his back. Girtz is on him in a heartbeat with hammerfists, pounding him flat and prompting referee Jason Herzog to intervene. Fantastic knockout by Brandon Girtz.

Melvin Manhoef vs. Hisaki Kato

Round 1

(+ Enlarge) | Photo: D. Mandel/Sherdog.com

Manhoef landed a brutal left hand.
The southpaw Kato circles to his right, stepping into the pocket and just navigating under a quick one-two from Manhoef. Kato steps inside with a hard left round kick to the body, then a quick one-two that puts Manhoef against the fence. Kato flurries on his man briefly, but thinks better of it when Manhoef swings in retaliation. Hard low kicks from Manhoef, but Kato tags him with a left over the top. A hard right hand rocks Manhoef now, and then a series of accurate left rocks him further as the Dutchman goes back to the fence. As typical when wounded, Manhoef responds with furious counter swinging, which once more backs Kato off.

“No Mercy” is not done emptying his clip yet, thought: Kato starts trotting forward, looking to continue his attack and Manhoef unloads with a furious single left hook that wipes Kato out. Referee John McCarthy cuts Manhoef off and recognizes the vacant look in Kato's eyes, calling the bout then and there. Brutal one-hitter quitter from Melvin Manhoef.
