Bellator 149 Update: Melvin Guillard Gets New Foe; Wren vs. Torres Set for Prelims

Derek Campos has replaced the injured Mike Bronzoulis and will face Melvin Guillard at Bellator 149 on Feb. 19.

Promotion officials announced the change on Tuesday, while also revealing that “The Ultimate Fighter 10” veteran Juan Torres in a featured heavyweight preliminary bout. Bellator 149 takes place at the Toyota Center in Houston and is headlined by the third meeting between Ken Shamrock and Royce Gracie. The evening’s main card airs on Spike TV beginning at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT, while the preliminary draw streams immediately prior on Bellator.com.

Campos is coming off back-to-back losses in Bellator, as he was submitted in the opening stanza by Michael Chandler in June before being stopped by Brandon Girtz in 37 seconds this past November. Campos is 4-3 with the promotion overall.

A longtime UFC veteran, Guillard has lost three of his last four outings, including a split-decision defeat to Girtz in his promotional debut at Bellator 141. “The Young Assassin” has finished 21 of his 32 career victories by knockout or technical knockout.

Wren returned to the cage after a five-year hiatus at Bellator 141, where he outpointed Josh Burns to improve to 11-2 as a professional. Torres owns a 3-3 career mark and is coming of a first-round stoppage of Gary Harling at a regional event in Texas on Jan. 15.
