Round 1

Cho lands a body kick and a right hand to the face in an initial exchange. The fighters tie up and trade punches in the clinch. Cho pushes Hardwick into the fence, picks up his opponent and slams him to the canvas. Hardwick attempts to isolate Cho’s arm for a camera from his back. Cho defends and passes to half guard. Hardwick briefly creates some space, but Cho drives right back into his foe’s guard. Cho lands several short elbows from half guard before Hardwick can regain full guard. Hardwick is staying active from his back. He goes for a triangle but Cho quickly passes guard into a north-south position. Hardwick stands after a scramble and turns Cho into the fence. Cho takes his man down quickly and is back inside of Hardwick’s guard. Cho postures up and lands a flurry of right hands. 10-9 Cho.

Round 2

Hardwick checks a leg kick from Cho, who follows up with a punching combination. Hardwick catches Cho with a kick to the cup in an ensuing exchange. Cho takes some time to recover and the action resumes. Hardwick lands a solid knee in close quarters. Cho moves forward and lands a punching combination. Cho catches a Hardwick flying knee and takes his opponent down. Cho moves into side control and lands some knees to the body. Cho looks to pass into full mount but ends up in half guard instead. Hardwick scrambles back up and they exchange punches before separating. Cho lands a one-two combination. A slow body kick by Hardwick allows Cho to land an easy takedown with a little more than 1:00 remaining. Cho sets up in his adversary’s full guard. Cho passes guard and begins to unleash ground-and-pound. The assault increases in intensity and John McCarthy takes a close look. Hardwick is able to defend himself and survive until the end of the frame. 10-9 Cho.

Cho beat Hardwick down and finished him.
Hardwick throws an ill-advised kick and is taken down almost immediately. Hardwick utilizes a rubber guard from his back, but Cho passes with ease. Cho steps over into mount and begins unleashing right hands and hammerfists. Hardwick briefly recovers guard but Cho is able to pass again. Cho lands more right hands and Hardwick has developed some swelling under his right eye. Cho maintains his pressure from above, and he alternates punches to the body and head from guard. A couple right hands get through and Hardwick curls up. Referee McCarthy warns Hardwick to defend himself, but Cho continues to hammer away and the bout is halted.

Steve Kozola vs. Jake Roberts

Kozola quickly dispatched of Roberts.
After a brief feeling-out process, Roberts lunges forward in an exchange and gets clipped by a Kozola left hook to the jaw. Roberts falls face-first to the canvas and Kozola dives in, landing a hammerfist on the mat. A woozy Roberts returns to his feet and absorbs 10 to 12 unanswered punches from a swarming Kozola before falling to his knees. Referee John McCarthy steps and waves off the lightweight contest. Just like that, Kozola has his sixth career KO/TKO victory.

Noad Lahat vs. Lloyd Carter

Round 1

Lahat lands a push kick to the midsection, then catches a kick from Carter and pushes his foe into the fence. Carter separates and returns to the center of the cage. It’s a tentative start for both men thus far. Lahat lands a hard leg kick and moves away as Carter attempts to answer with punches. Carter sits Lahat down with a stiff left jab. Lahat pops back up and takes Carter down near the fence. Lahat hooks the far leg of Carter and secures an underhook with his right arm in an attempt to pass to side control. Carter creates some space briefly, but Lahat stands and gets back into top position behind an axe kick to the body. Lahat stays busy with punches and pressure from half guard. Lahat lands some elbows to the thigh of his opponent before securing an arm triangle choke. Lahat passes guard but lets the choke go. Lahat ends the frame in full mount. 10-9 Lahat.

Lahat put Carter to sleep with a RNC.
Lahat opens by landing an outside leg kick. Lahat just misses on a head kick and they reset in the center, where Carter lands an inside leg kick followed by a jab. Carter blocks a body kick by Lahat. Carter lands another clean jab and Lahat responds with a combination that allows him to tie up his foe near the fence. Lahat gets the takedown and goes to work from half guard. Lahat is looking to lock up the arm-triangle again and he moves to mount. Lahat is on the wrong side to execute the choke and Carter reverses him. Carter grabs a headlock and throws a knee to the body on the seated Lahat. Carter gets taken down and Lahat moves to his opponent’s back. Lahat has his back to the fence as he tries to slide his right arm underneath Carter’s chin. Lahat has a body triangle secured and he lands a couple elbows to the temple that appear to hurt Carter. That creates an opening that allows Lahat to get his right arm under Carter’s chin and this time the choke is tight. Carter goes unconscious in a matter of moments, and Lahat has his second Bellator triumph.

Sergei Kharitonov vs. Chase Gormley

Kharitonov melted Gormley with an uppercut.
Gormley opens with a low kick followed by a kick to the body. Kharitonov goes to the face with a jab and then follows up with a jab to the body. Kharitonov continues to pump his jab in the early going, holding his hands high. Gormley tries a superman punch but the Russian sidesteps it with ease. Gormley lands a couple quick jabs of his own. Kharitonov catches a kick and lands a hard knee to the head that rocks Gormley. Gormley stays busy with jabs and right hands. He’s landing consistently, but not with any serious power. Kharitonov gets close and connects with another knee. Kharitonov lands a hard right hand. Kharitonov marches forward and is briefly dazed as Gormley tees off with a combination. The Russian regains his bearings relatively quickly and fires off a hard outside leg kick. Kharitonov continues to rely on his jab as he moves forward. The Pride veteran stalks Gormley near the fence and hurts his man with a right hand over the top. Kharitonov steps back and follows up with a right uppercut that lands clean on the chin. Gormley topples to the canvas, giving Kharitonov a walk-off knockout victory.

Marcos Galvao vs. Emmanuel Sanchez

Round 1

The combatants trade kicks in an opening exchange, with Sanchez going low and Galvao going to the body. Sanchez goes high with a kick, but it’s blocked. Sanchez lands a push kick to the chest. Galvao shoots for a takedown and drives Sanchez into the fence. The Brazilian attempts to pick up his opponent, but “El Matador” maintains his balance. Sanchez is eventually able to turn Galvao into the cage and they separate. Sanchez misses a spinning back fist but it sets up a head kick. Galvao blocks the offering. Galvao shoots behind a two-punch combination but he gets turned around quickly. The fighters again separate and return to the center of the cage. Galvao lands a right hand to counter a Sanchez push kick. Galvao answers a Sanchez combo with a right hook. Galvao follows up with a pair of hooks to the head followed by a leg kick. Sanchez shoot for a takedown from too far out and Sanchez sprawls easily. Sanchez lands an inside leg kick that might’ve been low. The fighters touch gloves and continue. Sanchez fires off a head kick that Galvao is able to elude as the round draws to a close. 10-9 Sanchez.

Round 2

Sanchez is the aggressor to start, staying busy with punches and kicks. Not everything is landing, but his volume is exceeding Galvao’s. Galvao tries for a level change but Sanchez limp legs out of the attempt. Galvao lands a grazing overhand after a Sanchez kick. Sanchez pumps his jab in Galvao’s face. Sanchez lands a kick to the face and Galvao answers back with a combination. Sanchez marches forward, throwing punches and kicks in combination at his opponent. Galvao lands a two-punch combo followed by a kick to the body. The featherweights tie up and Sanchez pushes his man into the cage. Sanchez lands a few knees before Galvao pushes him away. They trade in the center of the cage and Sanchez gets a right hand through and follows up with a body kick. Sanchez moves forward with a multi-punch combination and then ends with a body kick. Sanchez shoves Galvao down with less than 10 seconds to go. Galvao pops up and eats a right hand and uppercut to the body for his efforts. 10-9 Sanchez.

Sanchez cruised for three rounds.
Sanchez goes back to the spinning back fist followed by a head kick combination to began the period. Sanchez continues the high level of activity, often punctuating punching combinations with kicks as Galvao struggles to close the range. Sanchez lands an outside leg kick and then a counter right hand. Galvao stalks Sanchez near the fence and shoots for a takedown but Sanchez easily denies the attempt. Sanchez pushes Galvao into the fence, where he bounces while holding his foe in the clinch. Galvao shoves Sanchez away and they’re back in the center of the cage. Galvao pushes forward with punches and again changes levels. Sanchez isn’t having it and he punches his way out of danger. Sanchez continues mix punches and kicks nicely to keep Galvao off balance. They tie up and Sanchez lands a knee up the middle as Galvao drives him into the fence. Galvao finally gets a takedown with 10 seconds remaining. Galvao fires off a few punches before his opponent stands. Galvao backs up and urges Sanchez forward, but the young fighter doesn’t take the bait as time expires. 10-9 Sanchez (30-27 Sanchez).

Quinton Jackson vs. Muhammed Lawal

Round 1

Lawal takes the center of the cage to start. King Mo backs Jackson into the fence and lands a quick lead left hook. Lawal holds his lead hand l ow, throwing jabs at Jackson’s head and body. Lawal throws a combination and then ties up with Rampage. Lawal drops for a single leg and gets Jackson down against the fence. Jackson attempts to power back to his feet, but Lawal gets him down again and moves to his opponent’s back. Lawal maintains the body lock and then lets go to land a few left hands to the head. The crowd at the Allstate Arena is getting restless as Lawal grinds away from the rear waistlock position. Lawal wants to drag Jackson back down but manages to land punches and knees in the interim. Finally, the American Top Team product dumps Jackson back on the canvas. Lawal is in half guard with less than 30 seconds remaining in the frame. Jackson stands and fires misses a big punch as the bell sounds. 10-9 Lawal.

Round 2

Jackson already looks a little bit winded as the round begins. Jackson throws a left hook but Lawal dodges it. Lawal forces his way into the clinch and lands a knee to the thigh. Lawal drops down and briefly pulls Rampage to the canvas. Jackson stands up and King Mo lands a knee to the body. Lawal continues to push his opponent into the fence, with Rampage offering little offense in return. Referee John McCarthy separates the fighters after not seeing enough action. Jackson gets a jab through Lawal’s guard. Lawal lands a couple jabs and slips Jackson’s return offering. Jackson lands a left hook that seems to have dazed Lawal. Jackson senses it and presses forward, landing power punches and Lawal might be hurt. Lawal shoots out of desperation and Jackson sprawls. Rampage attempts to land some elbows to the side of the head but is warned by McCarthy. Jackson continues to sprawl before shoving Lawal away. Jackson lands another shot before they clinch in the center of the cage. Jackson lands a knee to the midsection then executes a throw to get Lawal to the canvas. Lawal stands and Jackson whiffs on a combination as the round ends. 10-9 Jackson.

King Mo avenged his loss.
Jackson just misses on a superman punch and a follow-up offering. Lawal shoots from far away for a takedown and Jackson defends nicely with his back to the fence. Jackson attempts to shove his foe away but Lawal drops down and grabs a single leg. King Mo gets low and drives forward, lifting Jackson briefly. He can’t get the takedown, however, and Jackson lands some elbows to the side of the head in the process. Lawal continues to push Jackson into the fence, where he lands some body shots before Jackson shoves him away again. Lawal resets and shoots again. Jackson denies the takedown and fires off a combination on the break. Lawal remains persistent, as he goes for another takedown against the fence. Jackson surprisingly shoots for a takedown of his own but Lawal defends it easily. Lawal moves to Jackson’s back and lands some punches to the head. Jackson stands with little issue. Lawal keeps the pressure on and digs punches to the body near the fence before tying up with the ex-UFC champ again. Lawal stays busy working the body before Jackson breaks free. Lawal closes the range and ties up with Jackson again. Jackson misses a left hook. Lawal forces his way into the clinch. Both fighters trade in close quarters in the bout’s waning moments. 10-9 Lawal. (29-28 Lawal).
