Bellator 33 Lineup Finalized
Joe Myers Oct 5, 2010
Bellator Fighting Championships on Monday added a featherweight
bout pitting Wilson Reis
(left) against Deividas
Taurosevicius and the promotional debut of unbeaten
welterweight prospect Rick Hawn to
its Bellator 33 lineup on Oct. 21 at the Liacouras Center in
Philadelphia.
The matchups will play out underneath the non-title main event pairing Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez with UFC veteran Roger Huerta. In addition, Bellator 33 will feature a welterweight title fight between champion Lyman Good -- who will return from a 15-month layoff -- and Ben Askren, who won the promotion’s Season 2 welterweight tournament.
Reis, a former EliteXC featherweight champion, reached the
semi-finals of Bellator’s 145-pound tournament on two separate
occasions. Taurosevicius is a veteran of the International Fight
League and World Extreme Cagefighting, where he won two of three
bouts.
Hawn -- who represented the United States in the Olympics in judo -- is undefeated in eight professional mixed martial arts matches and will look to remain perfect against LeVon Maynard. A veteran of the Ultimate Warrior Challenge circuit, Maynard has lost two of his last three fights.
