Bellator Announces Hawaii Event: Macfarlane Headlines, McKee-Campos Co-Main

Bellator MMA is officially returning to Hawaii this December, and Ilima-Lei Macfarlane will once again serve as the main attraction.

According to a report from KHON2 News on Thursday, and later confirmed by sources to, the promotion will be holding a to-be-numbered event on Dec. 21 at the Neil S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu. In the main event, Macfarlane (10-0) will be taking on Britain's Kate Jackson (11-3-1) for the flyweight crown. In the co-featured spot on the card, A.J. McKee (15-0) will face Derek Campos (20-9) in a five-round quarterfinal in the featherweight grand prix.

Macfarlane is unbeaten as a professional, with all but one of her career victories taking place inside the Bellator cage. Eight of her 10 wins have come by stoppage, and she has finished each of her last five opponents before the final bell. The Hawaii native holds or is tied for numerous Bellator records in women's divisions, including the most appearances, wins, finishes and more. In addition to her achievements with Bellator, "The Iliminator" recently appeared in music video on a single called "Don't Call Me Angel" from the upcoming "Charlie's Angels" sequel.

Jackson is riding a two-fight winning streak, having handed highly touted Russian prospect Anastasia Yankova her first career defeat at Bellator 200. From there, she finished Lena Ovchynnikova via doctor stoppage in the first round at Bellator 223 in June. Her first break on the big stage came on Season 23 of "The Ultimate Fighter," where she made it into the semifinals of the women's bracket, but ultimately tapped out to a guillotine choke from current Ultimate Fighting Championship strawweight contender Tatiana Suarez.

McKee stole the show at Bellator 228 by blasting Georgi Karakhanyan in only eight seconds, picking up the fourth-quickest finish in company history. From there, McKee appeared on the selection show and opted to take the first available fight, where he was then matched with Campos. With 15 wins in 15 fights, and all 15 taking place in the Bellator cage, McKee holds the longest winning streak in promotional history.

Campos punched his ticket into the featherweight quarterfinals with a decision win over former champ Daniel Straus at Bellator 226 in September. The win snapped a three-fight skid -- the longest in his career -- and through his tenure with Bellator, he has scored wins over the likes of Brandon Girtz, Derek Anderson and Melvin Guillard. "The Stallion" is one of just a baker's dozen fighters throughout Bellator history that have appeared with the promotion more than 15 times.
