Collins’ coach, JT Tilley, posted news of her passing Wednesday on Facebook:

“The fight is over. You never stopped fighting and we never gave up on you. Just wasn’t in the cards,” Tilley wrote. “...I’ve always been so proud of you Kate. We did it. I was honored to be able to live you your dream with you. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I will miss you more than the world will ever know.”

Collins suffered a brain aneurysm on Sept. 20, according to a GoFundMe.com page started in her name. “If anyone knows Katy, you would know she is a loving, caring, selfless individual with a huge heart,” the post read. An update to the page revealed that Collins died on Wednesday and is survived by two young sons. The GoFundMe account will remain active to help the family with the funeral and medical costs.

Collins compiled a 7-5 record over the course of a professional career that began in 2015. She earned victories in the Bellator and Resurrection Fighting Alliance promotions, notably outpointing Bruna Vargas at Bellator 181 on July 14, 2017. Her last appearance came at LFA 42, where she lost a unanimous verdict to Jaimelene Nievara in June 2018.
