Bellator MMA Announces Monster Energy NASCAR Event Aug. 19
On the heels of its successful event in conjunction with Monster
Energy NASCAR All-Star race, Bellator
MMA announced its next event in the series.
Bellator revealed on Wednesday that it will host an afternoon event on Aug. 19, prior to the NASCAR race at Bristol Motor Speedway. The Bellator event will take place at Earhart Campground, in Bristol, Tenn., and will be headlined by a welterweight showdown between prospects Willis Ben Sergent and Brandon Bell.
"Bellator's partnership with Monster Energy has opened the door for
many new and exciting opportunities," Bellator President Scott
Coker said. “The Monster Energy Bellator MMA Fight Series allows us
to share our brand of entertainment with an entirely different fan
base. Following the success and feedback of the first event in May,
we are thrilled to work together with Hans Molenkamp, Aaron Quesada
and the entire Monster Energy team again to bring Bellator MMA
action to the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series in Bristol."
Rounding out the card will be a lightweight battle between Nick Gehrts and Ken Beverly; Damir Ferhatbegovic versus Jonathan Pearce; and an amateur featherweight bout between Ahva Mayi and Preston Schick.
Additional bouts are expected to be included.
The fight card will begin prior to the start of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race; the in-cage action goes down at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT.
