The first card for the Monster Energy Bellator MMA Fight Series is set, and a contract with the California-based promotion could be at stake for the two men at the top of the bill.
The four-bout lineup is part of Bellator’s partnership with the energy drink to showcase a series of fights to take place at select races during the 2017 Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series season. The card is headlined by a heavyweight showdown between Allen Crowder and Robert Neal and takes place at the Charlotte Motor Speedway during the NASCAR All-Star Race weekend on May 20.
According to a release, the main event competitors are “in consideration to be signed to a multi-fight Bellator MMA contract.” Three other bouts will join Crowder vs. Neal at the Monster Energy display at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Fan Zone between 3:30 p.m. ET and 5 p.m. ET: Jeremie Holloway vs. Jacob McClintock at welterweight; Mike Stevens vs. Lashawn Alcocks at ligh tweight and Allen Bose vs. Chris Crawford at light heavyweight.
Additionally, former UFC champ Tito Ortiz and ex-Pride and Strikeforce champ Dan Henderson will participate in an autograph session at the Fan Zone on May 19.
