“This is going to be a life-changing journey for me,” Loureda wrote on Twitter. “I will be disconnected from any contact from the outside world for a few weeks to months. Competing out of martial arts is completely out of my comfort zone, but I will prove to myself and the world the athlete that I am.”
According to Loureda, she was one of 10 people selected from 20,000 applicants to compete on the show.
“I promise I will give my heart and soul into this experience and represent MMA globally to 8 million viewers…Truly from the bottom of my heart, I will miss you all and know that your support and motivation will keep me going every day,” she continued.
“I will be back soon; stronger, faster, smarter and hungrier than ever to become the next flyweight champion.”
Anchored at American Top Team, Loureda has kicked off her pro career with victories over Colby Fletcher and Larkyn Dasch under the Bellator MMA banner.
