The first Bellator MMA card on CBS Sports is now set.
On Thursday, the promotion released the full lineup for the event that will take place at the Allianz Cloud in Milan, Italy. Bellator 247 on Oct. 1 – a Thursday, breaking with standard tradition of Bellator shows on Friday or Saturday – will be topped by a welterweight thriller between Paul Daley (41-17-2) and Derek Anderson (16-3, 1 NC). Unlike previous Bellator fight nights that take place in Europe, there will be no tape delay to international audiences. The 10-fight preliminary card will be aired on CBSSports.com and Bellator’s YouTube channel, while the four-fight main card will be the first Bellator offering on the CBS Sports Network.
The event, an officially numbered Bellator card instead of part of the European Series, will feature a mix of up-and-coming prospects, European talents, members off the Bellator Kickboxing ranks and even a few MMA newcomers. Drawing the co-main assignment is a middleweight affair pitting unbeaten Hungarian Norbert Novenyi (5-0) against Laid Zerhouni (5-4), with the latter never reaching the scorecards across nine bouts.
Also on the main card is a women’s flyweight tilt which sees Bellator Kickboxing standout Denise Kielholtz (5-2) continue her way through the Bellator ranks against former title challenger Kate Jackson (11-4-1). Opening the four-fight main portion that takes place at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT/9 p.m. UK is a lightweight bout of Moroccan kickboxer Ilias Bulaid (2-0) against MMA newcomer Ivan Naccari (0-0).
