Bellator Fighting Championships today announced the pairings for its upcoming Season 5 welterweight tournament.

Beginning Sept. 10 at Bellator 49, the tournament will feature former UFC welterweight contender Ben Saunders squaring off with Olympic judoka Rick Hawn, while onetime Sengoku talent Dan Hornbuckle tangles with Brazilian prospect Luis Santos. Additionally, former MFC champion Douglas Lima will meet Steve Carl, as Brent Weedman locks horns with fellow Season 4 competitor Chris Lozano.

Bellator 49 foes down from Caesar's Atlantic City Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, N.J. All four quarterfinal matchups will air live on MTV2.

As with all of Bellator's tournaments, the winner of the bracket will be awarded $100,000 in total pay and a guaranteed title shot at the reigning promotional champion.

“A lot of these guys were in our Season 4 Tournament, and after seeing some of the performances they put on, it was a no-brainer to bring a lot of them back,” said Bellator chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney in a statement. “With newcomers to the tournament like Ben Saunders, Douglas Lima and Luis Santos, the winner of the title fight between Ben Askren and Jay Hieron will have a great fight on his hands.”
