Eight men are now confirmed for Bellator's sixth-season featherweight tournament.

Alexandre Bezerra, Jeremy Spoon, Genair da Silva and Roberto Vargas will join previously announced participants Ronnie Mann, Marlon Sandro, Daniel Straus and Wagnney Fabiano in the upcoming 145-pound draw, Sherdog.com confirmed with sources close to the competitors on Friday. MMAJunkie.com initially reported the participation of da Silva, Bezerra and Spoon.

Bellator’s sixth season is expected to begin in March and will air on Friday nights on MTV2. In addition to the featherweight draw, the Chicago-based promotion will hold tournaments in the bantamweight, lightweight, welterweight and middleweight divisions.

Bezerra has won his last seven fights, earning four straight wins in the Bellator cage since joining the promotion in June. The Brazilian’s last victory did not come easily, as “Popo” sustained some heavy ground-and-pound from Douglas Evans before submitting the American with a textbook heel hook.

Formerly competing as a lightweight, Spoon has been successful in both of his Bellator appearances, outpointing Jerrod Sanders and Adam Schindler in March and October, respectively. Undefeated in 12 pro outings, “Spooner” owns eight career wins by submission.

Da Silva returns to the tournament format after dropping a split decision to eventual finalist Sandro in the Summer Series. After stumbling in that quarterfinal, the Brazilian rebounded by posting a non-tournament win over Bryan Goldsby, submitting his foe with a brabo choke on Oct. 1.

A two-time Bellator veteran, Vargas debuted for the promotion in 2009, outpointing Daniel Pineda at Bellator 6. Though “Beto” would fall to Wilson Reis in his next outing and therefore fail to earn a spot in the organization’s second-season tournament, the Californian has won his last six fights since departing Bellator. Vargas was last seen earning a split decision over Jared Downing at Shark Fights 20.
