Brad Katona to Fight Hunter Azure at UFC Vancouver

Canadian Brad Katona will have another fight in home territory.

On Thursday, the Ultimate Fighting Championship announced that the 27-year-old Katona (8-1) will take on Hunter Azure (7-0) at bantamweight, with the latter making his promotional debut, at UFC Fight Night 158. Additionally, the promotion announced that Brazilian striker Michel Pereira (22-9, 2 NC) will clash with Sergey Khandozhko (26-5-1) at welterweight on this card.

Katona suffered his first professional loss at UFC Fight Night 151 in May, dropping a decision to Merab Dvalishvili. Before that, "Superman" had beaten both Jay Cucciniello and Matthew Lopez by decision. His win over Cucciniello won him "The Ultimate Fighter 27" at the featherweight division. Although he is from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Katona does train in Ireland at SBG Ireland under head coach John Kavanagh.

Legacy Fighting Alliance vet Azure, meanwhile, is one of the latest signings from Dana White's Contender Series. Competing on Season 3, Episode 3 this year, he captured a unanimous judges' verdict over Chris Ocon to earn a UFC contract.

UFC Fight Night 158 goes down on Sept. 14 at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and will be headlined by a lightweight fight between Donald Cerrone and Justin Gaethje.
