Despite missing weight by .2 pounds, Bruno Miranda is the latest prospect to join the Professional Fighters League after an impressive showing against Carson Frei.

Frei (9-5) and Miranda (14-3) came out swinging in the main event of PFL Challenger Series 5. Miranda showed an early edge on the feet with some solid low kicks, while Frei looked to take the fight to the ground. Miranda's striking edge would continue into the final two rounds as "Robusto" repeatedly tagged Miranda with powerful punches and kicks. The Brazilian would keep on the pressure and finally landed an uppercut that caused Frei to faceplant. The impressive striking display earned Miranda a knockout victory at the 3:40 mark of Round 3.

The co-main event saw Damir Ferhatbegovic take on the much more experienced B.J. Bland, who has three times the number of fights as "The Bosnian Barn Cat." Despite Bland (15-11) having the experience edge, it was Ferhatbegovic (6-2-1) that scored a vicious knockout. A right hook that came after a well-timed uppercut was enough to drop and put away Bland after just 2:41 of action.

Lightweights Michael Dufort and Arut Pogosjan had a back-and-forth battle. The first round saw Dufort (9-4) take the back of Pojosjan (9-4) early in Round 1, but it was the Elevation Fight Team member that started landing on the feet to close the frame. However, it would be Dufort's grappling that would be the difference-maker as the Canadian sank in a rear-naked choke at 4:02 of Round 2 that forced the tap.

Undefeated lightweight prospect Yanal Ashmoz kept his record spotless against Dennis Hughes Jr. in the first fight of the night. The Israeli fighter managed to take the fight to the ground in Round 1 and used effective ground-and-pound to damage Hughes Jr. (7-4). Ashmoz (6-0) would continue the momentum in the following two rounds and take home a unanimous decision win with three 30-27 scorecards in his favor.
