Bryce Mitchell to Face Movsar Evloev at UFC Fight Night 214 on Nov. 5

One of these two Ultimate Fighting Championship featherweights’ undefeated records will come to an end soon.

The news broke on Thursday from Fight Bananas that Bryce Mitchell (15-0) is now booked against fellow unbeaten 145-pounder Movsar Evloev (16-0) on Nov. 5. The two will battle it out on UFC Fight Night 214, which does not currently have a headliner and is not expect to be capped off by this matchup. Mitchell spoke of his fight news on his social media shortly before the report came out, and other outlets have also confirmed this pairing.

“Thug Nasty” Mitchell has rattled off five straight wins since prevailing in the 27th season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” where he beat Tyler Diamond by majority verdict to earn the fabled “six-figure contract.” Mitchell started off his career with nine straight wins, with his first eight coming by submission within two rounds. Since then, he has gone the distance in five of his last six.

Like Mitchell, Evloev has never tasted defeat as a professional, and he too is 6-0 since joining the UFC roster. Across their 12 combined UFC outings, Mitchell has recorded one single submission – a twister of Matt Sayles – while Evloev has gone the distance in every one of those fights. After only five fights at 145 pounds, Evloev has already earned himself a place in the top 10 for the most takedowns landed in divisional history, with 27 in total. This includes a whopping 18 in his last two fights, landing nine against both Hakeem Dawodu and Dan Ige.

UFC Fight Night 214 will take place inside the UFC Apex in Nov. 5, and it does not currently have a main event on the books. Fights other than Mitchell-Evloev like to draw main-card billing include a strawweight clash between Marina Rodriguez and Amanda Lemos, a flyweight contest where Miranda Maverick faces Shanna Young, and a flyweight tilt pitting Tagir Ulanbekov against Nathan Maness.
