A middleweight tilt between Texan Bubba Bush and South Africa’s Garreth McLellan has been added to the undercard of UFC Fight Night “Poirier vs. Duffy.”
Ultimate Fighting Championship officials on Monday announced the 185-pound matchup, which joins a burgeoning Oct. 24 bill set to take place at 3Arena in Dublin. Topping the card is a featherweight bout between American ranker Dustin Poirier and Irish up-and-comer Joseph Duffy.
Bush, 30, had a four-fight winning streak snapped in his Octagon debut when he was knocked out by Kevin Casey at UFC 175, though that result was later overturned when Casey tested positive for steroids. The former Legacy Fighting Championship titlist has not competed since and will have been out of action for more than 15 months when he returns to the cage.
McLellan, 33, also stumbled in his first UFC bout, dropping a unanimous decision to Bartosz Fabinski in April. Prior to that loss, “Soldier Boy” had won six in a row, including four by way of rear-naked choke, during his time as middleweight champion of EFC Africa.
